Roger Gorley was arrested because he refused to leave his partner's bedside at the Research Medical Center in Kansas City. Roger legal has power of attorney over his partner’s affairs, however it's not enough. Because he's not legally recognized as a family member he couldn't stay in the room with him. In fact, it was a family member who told Roger to leave.
When Roger refused to go, security handcuffed him and took him out. Now, there's a restraining order preventing him from seeing his partner.
