Tyler Perry's films are for the dogs and the messages in these films are the worst, especially to Black Women. I have created a list of reasons why his messages are no good, out of date and very insulting to all Black Women.
- Stay away from successful Black men because they are either an abuser, on the DL or have HIV.
- Dark skinned men are mean and full of rage.
- Most of you will end up single, drug addicted and a mother of kids with 3 different daddies.
- If you go to church you will always have a good man.
- Or if you don't go or stray away from the church, you will be an adulterer.
- Pray hard enough and a good man will come.
- If you want to be successful, you have to be cold and bougie.
- Every Black man has a criminal past.
- You have 8 out of 10 chances of being in a relationship with the wrong person for years.
- A Man will always save the day.
- If you are a Dark skinned woman more bad things will happen to you.
- You can never trust another Black woman.
- You have to be Christian if you want a good life.

Ooh, you forgot "you can never be bisexual, transwoman or a lesbian. Because they don't exist." Good list. I'm surprise none of the cultural critics (Cornel West, Michael Eric Dyson, Bell Hooks and the like) have written a book about Perry.
I've never intentionally watched a Tyler Perry film. Now I don't feel so bad.
I don't like the Medina movies but have watched a few others, recently Why Did I get Married Too and the tv series Meet the Browns and For Better or Worse, and have thought that I must be missing something. Apparently it is as it seems.
Behrmark, they're all the same movie anyway, so if you've seen one - you've seen em all.
He makes sense to me.
Stop bashing Tyler Perry what he speaks is true for ALL races. Madea was based on his MOTHER & teaches us how to be strong women! LOVE HIM!!

Tyler Perry is merely following a formula some successful black authors of books follow - exploit the expectations and fears of black women and they will open up their pocketbooks.
