Ah, Mississippi, where it's still 1956.

This isn't surprising to me. Right now I'm reading a bit of local history that traces the events around the 19th century Dorr Rebellion here in RI.

The racist shit was open and widely practiced in the mid 19th century. Now of course in the 21st century it's an undercurrent of racism that rises above the surface on occasion. Which means we've still got a very long way to go to be sure we are ALL equal.

I'm shocked this can happen in 2012, an age when we can use Twitter, Facebook and the Internet to put these fools on blast.
