Idris Elba: "I'd like a stab at Luke Cage."

Interesting comic book movie news. Hot daddy Idris Elba said in a Thor press conference that he would love a chance at being Luke Cage.
At the Thor press conference yesterday the man himself revealed that he is interested in taking on the long rumoured Luke Cage film.

He said "I'd like a stab at Luke Cage." However the role of the Hero for Hire will be met by some stiff competition from the likes of Isaiah Mustafa who recently stated he was after the role as well as the likes of Tyrese Gibson and Jamie Foxx.
I can see it. Idris has that bad ass sexy swagger that could give Luke Cage an edge. I mean I like Isaiah, but Idris could make Luke Cage, Power Man.

Sexy beast. He should play The Black Panther!

Having just seen him in Thor, he is definitely able to put the power in Power Man. I don't think they altered his voice in Thor, they didn't alter any of the other Asguardians' voices. So if that was Elba dropping it and making it all deep and forceful and sessay... that man could make you pregnant just talking to you. Let Old Spice guy take on T'Challa.

It would be nice to see him as 007.

I'd want a Black Panther flick before Luke Cage, especially since Black Panther was an Avenger long before Luke Cage became one. Plus BP is the leader of a country. A very powerful, technologically advanced country. Be nice to see that played up in the flick.

While Luke Cage is initially a small time inner city superhero. Plus I have a feeling that Hollywood would be sure to insert Iron Fist into the movie as quickly as possible for "demographic and profitability" purposes. Wouldn't be surprised to see an Iron Fist movie featuring Luke Cage over a Luke Cage movie.
