Joan Collins is now a Dame

Call her Dame Joan.

People magazine reports that actress Joan Collins has become a dame. Joan made Queen Elizabeth II's annual New Year's honors list due to her longtime charitable support for children.

Joan said it was "humbling to receive this level of recognition from my queen and country, and I am thrilled and truly grateful."

I'll accept this. What I cannot accept is Kristen Scott Thomas' damehood for services to drama. Over Emma Thompson? I am outraged.

I am happy to accept people getting honours for charity work or volunteering. But I totally disapprove of people getting honours for doing their jobs and/or making a lot of money!
