Someone Lay Hands on North Dakota

The 'wonderful' North Dakota House of Representatives denied the Senate Bill 2278 from going through. This bill would have provide the LGBT community protection from discrimination in housing, employment and public accommodations. This would have been added to the state's Human Rights Act, but the vote was 54-34.

House members believed the bill was not in the best interest of the state. I would like to know, what is really in the best interest of the state.

Is there a list? And what determines the level of importance?

Saving lives, keeping money tight, promoting goodwill and diversity should be in every state's best interest. How could they not see that. Then they claim there are other pressing matters they need to worry about.

Like what? What's in North Dakota besides cattle?

I want to know the pressing laws that can destroy the state. LGBT family in ND, my heart goes out to you and I hope that next year this can get passed.

North Dakota's legislative body has continued its great history of letting down the progressive movements time and again. I am utterly depressed by nearly every facet of the ND Legislative Branch. It is not progressive to ask for equal treatment under the law ever!
