Tennessee State Rep. wants to Stop Same-Sex Marriage

Mess in my homestate of Tennessee.

State Rep. Rick Womick wants the state to stop issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples. Why? He believes it was wrong for the U.S. Supreme Court to make gay marriage legal.

He stated:
"The state Constitution says that marriage is between one man and one woman, and my personal belief is that God says that marriage is between one man and one woman. He created Adam and Eve. God didn’t create Adam and Winston."
He continued in a phone interview to say that Tennessee should revert back to being a common-law state on marriage:
"That would take the state out of the marriage business altogether. I think that’s probably the best approach given the legal climate."
Rick is also working with a hate group, Family Action Council of Tennessee, to create a resolution to uphold the state constitution’s definition of marriage as a legal contract between one man and one woman.

I hope this fails.

Tennessee is the new Texas ... though Texas is still working it.
