Tim Tebow Cut AGAIN
Tim Tebow has been cut by the New England Patriots, according to ESPN.
This is the third team in 18 months, the third team!
I am beginning to wonder if this is the end of his career. A third time is not the charm for Tim.
SCOTUS First: Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will Officiate a Gay Wedding
This is cool.
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will officiate a gay marriage ceremony of Kennedy Center President Michael M. Kaiser and his partner John Roberts. The wedding will take place at the performing arts center in DC.
Justice Ginsburg will be the first member of the Supreme Court to do this.
In an interview in the Washington Post, she said:
“I think it will be one more statement that people who love each other and want to live together should be able to enjoy the blessings and the strife in the marriage relationship. It won’t be long before there will be another.”Again, this is very cool.

Glenn Greenwald's Man was a 'Mule', smuggling 58K Classified Intelligence Documents according to British Authorities
Glenn Greenwald may have gotten his man, David Miranda, in some deep trouble. After being detained by British authorities for 9 hours, they found about 58,000 classified intelligence documents on David and a password in his pocket.
According to Politico, all the info is contained in a 13-page report, that talks about the documents which includes personal information about UK intelligence staff, the disclosure of which "would cause harm to UK national security."
Now, Scotland Yard has launched a criminal investigation on David and if they find the evidence they need, chile, somebody is going away for a long, long time.
Glenn continues to claim that this is all false, but the more his name pops up in stuff, the more I see a pattern of foolishness.
Glenn, your man is in Danger, girl.
I Cut my Hair!
So I did it, I cut off half of my hair!
I don't know why I decided to do it, but I thought it was time. My hair stylist checked on me a few times as he was cutting my locs. But to be honest, it felt great to let go of my hair, the length and the energy. It was a great experience to let go and to let it be.
Here's the aftermath
My hair was down to the small of my back, now it's a inch from my shoulders.

Gay Married Couples get Federal Tax Recognition Regardless of State
President Obama and Treasury Sec. Jack Lew |
The government has spoken! The IRS will give gay married couples full tax benefits, regardless of where they live in the US.
In a statement from Treasury Secretary Jack Lew, he said:
“This ruling also assures legally married same-sex couples that they can move freely throughout the country knowing that their federal filing status will not change. Today’s ruling provides certainty and clear, coherent tax filing guidance for all legally married same-sex couples nationwide. It provides access to benefits, responsibilities and protections under federal tax law that all Americans deserve.”The Treasury Department also announced:
The U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) today ruled that same-sex couples, legally married in jurisdictions that recognize their marriages, will be treated as married for federal tax purposes. The ruling applies regardless of whether the couple lives in a jurisdiction that recognizes same-sex marriage or a jurisdiction that does not recognize same-sex marriage.I bet NOM and haters are going to claim some type of conspiracy against them and family values once this info goes viral.

Gay Activists, Stop with These Pointless Boycotts
Okay, we have had two boycotts gear towards Russia and their anti-gay law. One, was dumping Stoli vodka and the other was dumping Coke. The coke one is recent. The idea was to force Coca-Cola to not sponsor the Winter Games. However, these boycotts are truly baffling to me because, there are no real impact to them.
When Dan Savage started the #DumpStoli campaign, many gays jumped aboard. I don't know why folks jumped so quick. Maybe because it had Dan's name on it, whatever, folks claimed it was the second coming of boycotts. But as the weeks rolled out, we saw several gay businesses participate... But that was it! It didn't catch on and within a month, the initiative was over. There were posts claiming it worked, but those claims came from folks who wanted to save face and didn't want to admit defeat.
Now, there's a dump Coke protest that didn't amount to much either. So, I have to ask myself and all of you... What is the frakking point?
If we're trying to get attention, fine, you did. But if we are trying to change policy, laws and frame of thinking, dumping liquor and soda pop ain't going to make a difference. Doing something for the sake of doing something don't mean nothing. What needs to done is something that has a long standing and effective impact. These boycotts just makes us look disorganized and true believers of the knee jerk reaction. We are capable of great things, why are we co-signing on these pipe dreams?
I ask for LGBT activists to end these boycotts and really work with Russian activists on something that can change history. These quick fixes and half assed ideas ain't doing anyone any favors.

Matt Damon on Batman and those Robin Rumors
Matt Damon weighed in on his Buddy for Life being Batman and about those Robin rumors.
Matt said:
"I think it will be great. It will be terrific. I know there are a lot of people grousing on the internet. I just think it's kind of funny. You know, he's not playing King Lear. It's Batman! Certainly within his skill set. If anybody saw Argo or The Town, and all the work he's been doing lately, it's way more nuanced and interesting and way more difficult than Batman! Batman just sits there with his cowl over his head and whispers in a kinda gruff voice at people. Bruce Wayne is the more challenging part of the role, and Ben will be great at that."And Robin:
"I am a little older than Ben. I never saw Robin as older than Batman. Somebody sent me a picture actually. It was really funny. But it's safe to say I won't be Robin."Maybe he could be Alfred?

Interesting Quote: Steve Lonegan
"It's kind of weird. As a guy, I personally like being a guy. I don't know if you saw the stories last year. They've been out for quite a bit about how he likes to go out at three o'clock in the morning for a manicure and a pedicure... Maybe that helps to get him the gay vote by acting ambiguous...I don't like going out in the middle of the night, or any time of the day, for a manicure and pedicure. It was described as his peculiar fetish. I have a more peculiar fetish. I like a good Scotch and a cigar. That's my fetish but we'll just compare the two."Steve Lonegan's homophobic response to Cory Booker's statement the other day

Interesting Quote: Cory Booker
"People who think I’m gay, some part of me thinks it’s wonderful. Because I want to challenge people on their homophobia. I love seeing on Twitter when someone says I’m gay, and I say, ‘So what does it matter if I am? So be it. I hope you are not voting for me because you are making the presumption that I’m straight.’"I hope he is, so we can get married.

Daniel Hernandez attacked in a Homophobic Recall Campaign
Daniel Hernandez Jr. was the intern who helped save Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ life when she was shot. Fast forward a couple of years and now he's an elected member of a Tucson-area school board.
Right now, Daniel is in the middle of a recall election. The reason behind the recall has to do with some local political drama, but the sad part about it is how Daniel is being attacked. Some anonymous folks are attacking his sexuality and passing out this particular flyer.
Really? You know, it's Arizona and they are crazy over there. But this mess here, is just straight up ridic. Please go over to Right Wing Watch to see the rest of this foolishness.

This the 15th Anniversary of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill
On Aug. 25, 1998, Lauryn Hill gave us her powerful solo debut album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. I remember the day I bought it! This album was fresh and inspiring; it wasn't like anything I'd ever heard before. So much raw passion and talent in her voice and lyrics were so on point. Trust me, I wasn't the same after that album.
I was living in Statesboro, GA at the time. I was trying to understand myself and what I had to offer. This album, actually helped me and gave me the push I needed. I wish she could give us more music like this. Maybe she will someday... Maybe.
In celebration of this amazing album, here is one of my favorite tracks from this masterpiece

Joey Fatone is still HOT
My Take on the VMAs
So, I watched the VMAs (MTV Video Music Awards) last night and I'll tell you this... One, I'm old and two, it was interesting to see how music has changed... A lot.
Here is my review of the show
- Lady Gaga's performance was meh and somewhat sloppy. She didn't win any fans with that opening act.
- Miley Cyrus has grown up... into what, I don't know.
- Robin Thicke is still hot, but that suit he wore made me want to scream Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.
- Rihanna looked high all through the night.
- There were a lot songs I've never heard of.
- If BET Awards celebrates Black music, the VMAs...
- In fact, Macklemore won Best R&B/Rap at the VMAs
- Without Beyonce, you saw what life would be like.
- Justin Timberlake gave a long ass performance that was overhyped.
- However, when N'Sync performed, all eyes were on Joey Fatone... HOT.
- Lil Kim didn't look scary. And it's time for a new CD.
- Watching Jaden Smith cream over Drake was priceless.
- Drake is sooo Dreamy.
- Macklemore brought out Jennifer Hudson for their hit, Same Love. That was nice.
- A$AP Rocky and Jason Collins should never be on stage... EVER.
- Katy Perry... Well, it's Katy Perry. I'll just leave it at that
Who did it better? Katy Perry or Grace Jones
Katy Perry performed her new hit 'Roar' at the VMAs. But it was brought to my attention (Thanks Belasco) that someone did a similar performance before Katy.
That someone is Grace Jones
Watch Katy's performance
Now watch Grace
I like Grace's performance

In Harlem: A Transgender Woman was Savagely Beaten across the street from the Police Station
What is really going on?
A transgender woman named, Islan Nettles was a victim of a savage hate crime that actually across a the street from a police station last Saturday.
Seriously, across the street from the police station!
After fighting for her life the last few days, Islan was declared brain dead and taken off life support. Her murderer was arrested and his charges will be upgraded from a misdemeanor soon. But I can't get over the fact, that no one helped Islan or that she was beaten so close to a police station... That's outrageous to me!
To the friends and family of Islan. Stay strong and remember the good times.
RIP Islan.

Producer hopes to bring the Black Gay novel, 'Invisible Life' to the screen
After some lawsuits and some setbacks, we may see the work of acclaimed writer, E. Lynn Harris on the big screen. Producer Proteus Spann has been working hard to get the 1994 novel Invisible Life on stage and screen, but with a number of setbacks it didn't seem likely.
Now according to THR, the project seems to ready to move forward. Proteus is excited and ready to go. The film is set to be produced by his company, Spann’s E2 Productions and with Tracey Edmonds’ company Edmonds Entertainment. It's been a long time coming with this project. I hope they update the story a bit to fit the current times, but I'm sure it will be okay.
And I'm happy to hear about Proteus' drive and determination to make this happen. I hope he continues to get Invisible Life on the screen... Oh, and I hope Tyler Perry has NO part in the film what-so-ever.
Anywho, good luck, Proteus. I've got your back.
10 Reasons why Ben Affleck is a Great Choice for Batman
Where did all this Ben Affleck hate come from? Folks are lashing out about him being Batman, but seriously... What's the problem?
I think he's a great choice and possibly a strong pick for the character. In fact, I have about 10 reasons why I think he would make a great Bats.
- Ben is a pretty good actor. He has played many roles and a diverse amount of characters. I think he knows what he's doing.
- Ben is a critically acclaimed director. His skills can help bring Bats to a full tilt. I mean, this man has directed award winning films! Those skills accompanied with his acting could possibly give us a very interesting character to watch.
- Ben has the look. He has gotten better with age and he has that brooding thing going on.
- Ben understands comic books. He knows the character, he knows the comic book world.
- Ben is passionate about the role. Remember when there were talks about him directing Justice League? Well, I'm sure it was those meetings that opened the door to him getting this role.
- Ben can bring in other directors and producers. Ben has worked with the best and could bring in some of his friends like Kevin Smith and other directors to make this movie great.
- Ben has street cred. You can bring up Gigli and JLo, but he has earned his badges. He is respected and will give the film some much needed weight.
- Man of Steel wasn't great, therefore, Ben could strengthen the sequel.
- Ben can bring out the best in Henry Cavill. Again, Ben's producer and director skills can push Henry to be a better and stronger actor.
- Ben has star power. Like it or not, Ben can bring in the crowds. He's still in the game and has proven to be a big player in Hollywood. So don't be fooled by the rocks that he got, Ben is no joke.
If you remember, folks wasn't sold on Michael Keaton or Christian Bale as Batman. However, they thought George Clooney would be the perfect one. And folks didn't want Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, but it worked and worked well.
I will reserve the hateration until I see the film, however, I have faith in Ben.

Ben Affleck is the new Batman in the Superman/Batman Film
This is fresh and very interesting.

Ending weeks of speculation, Ben Affleck has been set to star as Batman, a.k.a. Bruce Wayne. Affleck and filmmaker Zack Snyder will create an entirely new incarnation of the character in Snyder’s as-yet-untitled project—bringing Batman and Superman together for the first time on the big screen and continuing the director’s vision of their universe, which he established in “Man of Steel.” The announcement was made today by Greg Silverman, President, Creative Development and Worldwide Production, and Sue Kroll, President, Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution, Warner Bros. Remembering Wilson Williams Jr.
I wanted to take the time to recognize someone we lost.
Wilson Williams Jr was an artist, a creator, a mentor, gay and a geek. He was also one of my first readers of my blog and later a friend. Over the few years, Wilson would share his views and geeky moments with me. We had a lot in common, it was always good to connect with him because we both were creative Black gay men.
Now, you may not get why I said that, but for many Black gay men, finding a person to connect with on geeky levels can be hard. But Wilson and I shared a lot deep geeky moments. We got each other. In fact, he is one of the reasons why I love to blog. Wilson was a reminder that there were Black gay geeks out there. He was a reminder of why it was important to connect with them and how we have to stick together.
Wilson was a great artist and creator as well. His work captured the innocence and spirit of youth. When you see his work, you will understand.
Wilson died recently... And I wished I had a chance to meet him. But I know his spirit will live on, in his family, friends and his art.
We will deeply miss you, Wilson.

Thank you for your kind invitation. However, as a gay man, I must decline. I am deeply troubled by the current attitude toward and treatment of gay men and women by the Russian government. Russian Runner Kseniya Ryzhova: Our Kiss was no Protest
After many, and I mean many folks assumed the Russian Runners' celebratory kiss was the KISS OF JUSTICE, they finally decided to clear up the misconception.
One of the runners, Kseniya Ryzhova said:
"The storm of emotions going through us was incredible. And if we, accidentally, while congratulating each other, touched lips, excuse me. We think the whole fuss is more of a sick fantasy not grounded in anything."Well, there you go. A kiss was just a kiss. I also noticed that some folks are complaining that it took a few days to clear this up. But let me say this, don't blame or point the finger at them for your ignorance of their culture. They shouldn't have to explain what they did, especially when it was a simple cultural norm. If we are going to be frustrated, it should be at ourselves for assuming and speculating.
Remember, it was some of you who blew this up, not them.

San Antonio Councilwoman defends being Homophobic

But instead of trying to clean up this mess, she puts out this statement:

It is unfortunate that a former member of my D9 Council team betrayed the trust of my staff members and me. I will fight, I will always fight for our freedom of speech, especially in a private setting.”Elisa, girl you need to get it together and just accept what you did.
