Bank of America realized they made a silly ass mistake. After announcing the $5 fee to the debit cards, the people pressured them to drop it... and it worked:
The reversal follows a huge backlash from customers, one of whom collected more than 200,000 signatures urging the bank to rethink its plan.
The bank listened, but only after other large banks had indicated that they would not impose similar fees. Wells Fargo, JPMorgan Chase, SunTrust and Regions Financial have all pulled back on their plans.
“We have listened to our customers very closely over the last few weeks and recognize their concern with our proposed debit usage fee,” David Darnell, co-chief operating officer at Bank of America, said in a statement. “As a result, we are not currently charging the fee and will not be moving forward with any additional plans to do so.”Good! Now stop being greedy and help our country!

Everyone should withdraw their money from Skank of America, Shitty Bank and the rest of them and deposit your money in your local credit union. Fuck these banks. Your a fool to deal with them.
