My pet peeve is that the Dayton Pride parade and festival is always held on the same day a professional society of which I am a member conducts their recertification exams. So once again I missed Dayton pride.
I'll be out of town when Cinci holds theirs. Maybe I'll be free for Cleveland...
People dressing up in public in stuff that belongs in the bedroom or some S&M dungeon. That is what ultimately ends up on the news every year without fail.
That on every pride web site you have to dig to find the parade inforamation. More specifically the DATE/TIME of the parade. This is common to Boston, Providence and NYC.
The one thing that bugs me is that we now call it the Pride Parade, when we used to call it the Gay Pride parade. When has "gay" become such a dirty word?!? We're so sanitized for the benefit of the press and the liberals who claim to support us, to make us "more presentable", we reek of mainstream. I'm just your average guy, but I am NOT mainstream...

My pet peeve is that the media focuses on the dykes on bikes, leathermen, and drag queens, not the average "I happen to be gay" men and women.
Stereotypes always in the news

HUGZ
Mine is that there always seems to be some almost naked group of boy/men on a float in what looks like a hot and steamy orgy.
There never seems to be any focus or any publicity to the "normal" or everyday gay. All we get is the stereotypical images that hurt our cause.
If you think like a straight person for a minute and saw an orgy float or half of what is focused on would you want a a bunch of gays next to you?
Basically, I think they do more to hurt our cause than help it.
Too often it becomes about the alcohol.
Most Pride parades are not a true reflection of the majority of gay men.
I agree with behrmark
