Marco Rubio on Gay Marriage

In terms of the Bible's interpretation of marriage, what our faith teaches is pretty straightforward. There's not much debate about that. The debate is about what society should tolerate, and what society should allow our laws to be. I believe marriage is a unique and specific institution that is the result of thousands of years of wisdom, which concluded that the ideal—not the only way but certainly the ideal—situation to raise children to become productive and healthy humans is in a home with a father and mother married to each other. Does that mean people who are not in that circumstance cannot be successful? Of course not.

It's not a discriminatory thing. I'm not angry at anyone because of it, but I also have to be honest about what I believe marriage should be in our laws.
Why would you be angry, Marco?

Slavery was also the norm in many countries for centuries. Should we bring this back? Or has wisdom taught us better? So can it be for marriage and what is the "norm"...
I'm just saying...

PS: At least this one doesn't express himself in an aggressive tone. Doesn't mean we shouldn't be wary...

He doesn't make and sense and his change isn't adding up to a dollar.

In one breath he admits that same sex couples can be successful and in the next he asserts he'd still limit their rights despite their success.

If it's not discriminatory then why no hesitation to limit the rights of anyone? Because once the limitations of the rights occurs that defines it as discrimination. He may not have discriminatory intentions but his actions produce discriminatory consequences. And that is the question he needs to be asked. How he can do this and still think he is representing the LGBT in his constituency...
