I know this movie is supposed to be bad(as in not good). But when I was little I remember that it would come on TV at least once a year. Just like The wizard of Oz and Charlie Brown's christmas and all that stuff. Me and all my little cousins and relatives would sit and watch it religously! And loved it to no end.

Never doubt the impact of having movies and visions that feature us minorities as the stars. Regardless of whether the majority of people thought it was great, the minority of us that got to see "Ourselves" in that movie thought it was spectacular!! It showed that we could be heroes and live in fantasy too!!

I just watched it again not a month ago on my Netflix and still know all the words to, You Can't Win, Slide Some Oil, Mean Ole Lion, Home(thanks to Stephanie Mills) and Don't Nobody Bring Me No Bad News!! It will always be a classic to me!!

I thought it was fantastic when I saw it. First of all the music was more to my liking.

And the sights - having spent some time in Boston and NYC as a kid I loved the walking columns.
