The DNC put God back in the Mix

The Dems felt pressure to put 'God' and 'Jerusalem' back in the party's platform. This is how it went down.

The Belief in God drops among Millennials

A new Pew poll tells us that young folks are not strong believers in Christ. The belief in God Almighty has fallen 15 points in the last five years.
Here's a little bit more info:
Pew, which has been studying the trend for 25 years, finds that just 68 percent of millennials in 2012 agree with the statement “I never doubt the existence of God.” That’s down from 76 percent in 2009 and 83 percent in 2007.

Among other generations, belief in God is high and has seen few changes in recent decades. Between 81 and 89 percent of older generations say they never doubt the existence of God, although the older the generation, the more likely they are to believe in God.

In 30 years, we could be very close to a un-God fearing country.

Hello God, It's Me, Viktor Tremaine Kerney

Okay God, we need to have a chat about your peeps. They are taking their hate-o-thon too seriously and becoming more silly than ever.

So if you are real, then please tell your 'followers' to:
  • Stop saying that you hate us.
  • Quit using you as a scare tactic.
  • Move away from protecting marriage.
  • Stop acting as your voice, I hope you can speak for yourself.
  • Re-read the Bible.
  • Stop tithing... I mean, what does that really pay for?
  • Not ignore the other sins.
  • Telling people they're going to Hell.
  • Let you have a say in social matters.
Your followers are getting out of hand, if you are the All Mighty, then get this ship back on track. Your message is about love, so tell them that, they're not acting in your best interest.

Okay, I'm done. But please, save your people.

Oh, and still want those magic powers I asked for as a kid.

Interesting Quote: Sen. Jim DeMint

I really think a lot of the motivation behind these Tea Party crowds is a spiritual component. I think it’s very akin to the Great Awakening before the American Revolution. A lot of our founders believed the American Revolution was won before we ever got into a fight with the British. It was a spiritual renewal. [...]

Well, I think people are seeing this massive government growing and they’re realizing that it’s the government that’s hurting us and I think they’re turning back to God in effect is our salvation and government is not our salvation and in fact more and more people see government as the problem and so I think some have been drawn in over the years to a dependency relationship with government and as the Bible says you can’t have two masters and I think as people pull back from that they look more to God. It’s no coincidence that socialist Europe is post-Christian because the bigger the government gets the smaller God gets and vice-versa. The bigger God gets the smaller people want their government because they’re yearning for freedom.

Rush says the Volcanic eruption is God’s Anger toward the health care bill

You know, a couple of days after the health care bill had been signed into law Obama ran around all over the country saying, “Hey, you know, I’m looking around. The earth hadn’t opened up. There’s no Armageddon out there. The birds are still chirping.” I think the earth has opened up. God may have replied. This volcano in Iceland has grounded more airplanes — airspace has more affected — than even after 9/11 because of this plume, because of this ash cloud over Northern and Western Europe. At the Paris airport they’re telling people to head to the train station to catch trains out of France, and when people get to the train station they’re telling people, “There aren’t any seats until at least April 22nd,” basically a week from now. It’s got everybody in a shutdown. Earth has opened up. I don’t know whether it’s a rebirth or Armageddon. Hopefully it’s a rebirth, God speaking.

This is truly sad and silly. But how many folks will believe this?

Randall Terry believes we are Cultural Axis of Evil

Maybe this can get Andy and the gang to focus their protest elsewhere.

Randall Terry, Director, Operation Rescue Insurrecta Nex, is gathering forces to combat the National Equality March supporters.

This is what he had to say:

"The child-killing movement and the 'homosexual marriage' have formed an unbreakable bond - a 'cultural axis of evil' - because they both spring from the same root: the rejection of God's Law and Natural Law concerning human sexuality and procreation.

"President Obama does America and the nations of the world a great disservice by legitimizing this self destructive, degrading behavior by speaking at the HRC banquet. On one day he speaks at Notre Dame, talking about the common good, and then proceeds to attack life and marriage in his policies, thereby destroying the common good. It is shameful."

He also has a press release:

Christians will gather at two key locations to remind homosexual marchers that God loves them, and they can be redeemed, but society cannot "normalize" a self-destructive behavior that can rob a human being of their eternal soul. Christians will bear witness to the truth: God made marriage to be a sacred covenant and sacrament between a man and a woman, and His Laws and order cannot be nullified - not by them, not by the Courts, and not by President Obama.

Times and Locations:

Saturday Evening, Oct 10, 6:00 PM: Location of Human Rights Coalition Banquet, at which President Obama is the keynote speaker. Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. 801 Mount Vernon Pl NW, Washington, DC.

Sunday, Oct 11, 12:00 Noon: National Equality March Parade route, Southeast Quadrant of Lafayette Park, across from White House.

I urge our folks to be ready and join together. This group has a large following and more of them are coming out this weekend. So stay strong and get ready.

My personal Letter to Pastor Steven L. Anderson

I wanted to be civil, but firm in my letter. I am posting this on his blog. He needs to know that his actions are vile and alarming.
***************************************************************************
Steven

I wanted you to know how appalling it is to hear so much hate in your sermons. I am trying to figure how you call yourself a man of God, while spitting out such vile mess about gays and President Obama.

Have no shame, Steven? Where do you think this is acceptable under God's word? As a pastor, you are suppose to be preaching on God's love, peace and unity, however it seems you have taken a myopic stance. You are a vessel of God, your sermons should not be about your personal agenda. The minute it becomes all about you, you have lost the point.

How do you think God will judge you? God would NOT condone your behavior at all! It is sick, divisive and far from what Jesus died for. You invoke violence, discord and hate, Steven! Do you realize that? Your children will be affected by this behavior and it will haunt them for most of their lives.

To stand there and preach this madness to your followers is clearly a disservice to them and your faith. What you are doing is the exact opposite of what Jesus would do. You have lost your way and you need to stifle yourself.

Steven, your actions are unacceptable and unjust. Think of your family, think of God, because if you continue, you will be 2 steps closer to Hell, honey.

Atheists Assemble!

The attack of the Atheists begins here. This week, they are aiming to remove the words "so help me God" from the end of the president's oath of office. And it doesn't stop there, they also want ministers gone as well.

Michael Newdow, who tried this "ban" in 2001 and 2005, is joined by the American Humanist Association, the Freedom from Religion Foundation and other super atheist groups in the new attack.

The new lawsuit says in part, "There can be no purpose for placing 'so help me God' in an oath or sponsoring prayers to God, other than promoting the particular point of view that God exists."

Newdow said references to God during inauguration ceremonies violate the Constitution's ban on the establishment of religion.

I wish them good luck, but it's not likely they will win. Still, I applaud their efforts.

Atheists, Assemble!

A new age is coming. The powers or the church is hitting its bullsh** limits and people thinking more freely about religion. Around the holidays or December 23rd, humanists, atheists, realists are gathering in many cities to celebrate the holiday they call HumanLight.

HumanLight presents an alternative reason to celebrate: a Humanist's vision of a good future. It is a future in which all people can identify with each other, behave with the highest moral standards, and work together toward a happy, just and peaceful world.

And more nonbelievers are coming out. More books about atheists, lawsuits pushing for separation of church and state, and even the Prop 8 battle has sparked a powerful backlash against religion. People are not seeing the same things as they used to. They are seeing the darker side of faith which includes greed, lust, and other deadly sins they try to save us from.

In an interesting article, the numbers of nonbelievers are growing. In fact, they have a public campaign that involves a myriad of ads on billboards, transportation, radio and TV, and the Internet. The reason? To declare that they are growing and they exist. They also want to provide a healthy, stable reality for society.

Now the religious groups are not worried yet, they still have their folks trained in the word of God, but times are changing. Obama's presidency brings the a saner and passive image to religion. His Supreme Court picks will leave 'church' out of the courtroom. And the civil rights issue with religion is causing more folks to think about the other side. Which is enough to fuel the nonbelievers in stepping it up in a big way. I wonder what the impact will be once these ads go fully mainstream.
