I used to have that problem. Make sure you're getting enough sleep, lay off alcohol, eat more protein and less carbs, and limit soda to one can a week at most. You'd be surprised how much easier it is to do it!
I was at my heaviest this past summer, and have started working out again the past few months. Cutting back bread on bread and pasta has help a lot, as well the usual stuff you hear (eating fruits/veggies, drinking water etc.) What has also helped is eating 2 to 3 large meals a day and staggering them out so I'm not eating/snacking all the time. Gives the body time to burn fat.
Viktor is a small town southern boy living in Los Angeles. You can find him on Twitter, writing about pop culture, politics, and comics. He’s the creator of the graphic novel StrangeLore and currently getting back into screenwriting.

I have been working out a bit more and trying to cut down on the junk food. It may be hard at first, but after awhile it becomes second nature.
