I don't know if she made a video for Skin on Skin, but I liked that one.
The sound of 'Nasty Girl' still holds up today.
But their dance moves are so bad, seriously it looks like something that a 13 year old came up with at the Youth Center after school.
And what was with the beautiful Indian-American one-- Susan was her name? The one with the teddy bear who "sang" Make Up? Did she sing at all?

I was in college then and the song, Vanity, and the whole Prince vibe was taking the world by storm.
I can remember grinding on the dance floor with a girl while this was playing while another guy was dancing with her from the back. I rubbed her so hard I wore a hole in my underwear no joke!
Those were the days...Young folks don't know how much fun the 80s were.
Vanity, Vanity, Vanity...how much better and more classic would Purple rain have been with her in it instead of Apollonia.
If she had stayed with Prince things may have gone different.
I had no idea "The Glamorous Life" performed by Sheila E was intended for her! I also didn't know it was her providing all the Ooh and Aahh's on the "Come" album by Prince either.
How come with the evangelical thing being so prominent these days is she not showcased and featured more on some of these evangelical shows? Or maybe she is and I just haven't run across her. I thought for sure she would have her own show and everything, she has a lot to testify about!
If she were to come on the scene today it would definitely be with a sex tape. Matter of fact, you know somebody has footage from back in the day hidden somewhere!

I didn't just want to be like Vanity. I wanted to BE Vanity (LOL). At the time I didn't know boys could like other boys; so if I had to be a woman it was Vanity. She could LITERALLY have any man she wanted to. Her beauty was unreal; and she exuded erotic charisma that no one could resist.
Everything about Vanity came together. That is why she's legendary in my eyes.
