Wonder Woman turns 600!

After 3 relaunches and 2 origin remixes, Diana will actually be up to date, comic book wise.

Her comic book will be printed as issue 600!!

So here's some quick history of WW.
Her first series went from 1-329 comic books

Her 2nd series went from 1-226 comic books

Now, once the 3rd series reaches issue 45, the comic will change over to 600.

Here's more from Dan Didio, Senior Vice President — Executive Editor of DC Comics

The response to our call for Wonder Woman postcards was spectacular, and we got the message loud and clear. We asked for 600 and by the Oct 31st cut off, we had an overwhelming 712 postcards (nearly 800 by the time of this writing), so as a man of my word, starting in June 2010, DC’s Wonder Woman series will celebrate its 600th issue and continue on from there. And we promise that Diana’s anniversary issue will be one to remember! There are some big plans in place and big changes in store for our favorite amazon warrior, so keep an eye on The Source in the new year, because we will be breaking the news here first!

To be continued….

DD

But that’s not all. We’ll be announcing some major news in relation to Wonder Woman early in 2010, including the roster of all-star artists contributing to the 600th issue. Until then, though, we’ll leave you with the issue’s cover, by none other than George Perez, who’s no stranger to the Amazon Princess.

More stuff? Excitement? Passion and Power? Okay, I'm taking it too far, but this is so great to hear. Diana deserves to be counted correctly. She's one of the big DC Three for Hera sake!

Oh, I can't wait.

She needs more great writers. It' rumored that Grant might do a WW project. The only WW arc I've really enjoyed, was the one by William Messner Loebs.

The WONDER WOMAN title is one I consider dropping every month--simply because the stories are hit or miss. She's a great character--written by a great writer, but her adventures are so slow and boring. They recently developed a "Diana Prince" identity, but it isn't used that often--so what was the point? This title is in trouble..

What is the current status of the movie? Has any progress been made there or is it still in limbo?

V, you must be very excited. I know she is a hero to you and it is always nice to see one of your heroes come out ahead.
