The Amazing story of Gay Filmmaker, Elegance Bratton

I am so excited to see “Pier Kids: The Life to Shed Light," a documentary on black LGBT homeless youth. It is about time to see more stories on this issue.

However, I was more shocked to learn about the creator of this feature. U.S. Marine Corps veteran Elegance Bratton was a homeless gay kid, trying to find his way. Later, he joined the Marines and moved forward in his life. To be honest... He was very lucky. Many men like him don't get out alive, so his story is an important one for gay homeless teens.

And I'm glad that I wasn't the only one who thought so as well. “Second Tour” is an ABC News digital series that focuses on veterans, focused on Elegance. Please check it out after the jump
