This is kind of a cute news... Mekhi Phifer joins the sexy cast of Torchwood.
Blastr reports:
The Lie to Me and 8 Mile veteran will join John Barrowman and Eve Myles in trying to defend the Earth and ensnare viewers for the fourth season of the Doctor Who spinoff.
Phifer will play CIA agent Rex Matheson, who's described as "a fast-tracked high flyer with a lethal sense of humor who starts to feel his mortality when his life is put in danger."
No word yet on whether Agent Matheson will be a potential love interest for Jack Harkness, but when you've got a pan-sexual time crusader as the lead, you never know.This could be interesting, sexy and who knows.

I haven't ever liked him, especially during his ER days. I'm hoping the deal falls through.
Torchwood is one of the shows i pledge to start watching. (right now I'm catching up on Arrested Development and United States of Tara.)
I would be very surprised(and kinda happy) to see a black male actor with his background of roles play a gay or bi-sexual character. If he does, it could be revolutionary in one circle and to his detriment in another, which is truly sad. Then again Isiaih Washington played gay in a Spike Lee movie long before the infamous incident on Grey's Anatomy. Playing a gay character may not mean that you are supportive necessarily. I guess we'll see.
