Supreme Court skeptical about the Health Care Law

Looks like Obama's Healthcare could be on a rocky road. Some of the Supreme Court judges are not feeling the individual mandate and very skeptical about its purpose.

MSNBC reports
The mandate is backed up by a financial penalty the law imposes on uninsured people who choose to not buy insurance. This provision takes effect in 2014.

Justice Antonin Scalia, who upheld broad federal power in the court’s 2005 Gonzales v. Raich medical marijuana decision, “had nothing good to say about this law,” Williams said.

Justice Kennedy “seemed to have grave concerns,” Williams reported, saying at one point in the oral argument “this is beyond anything Congress has ever done before.” It did not seem during the oral argument that Kennedy “found the justification that he needed” for the law, Williams said.

Veteran Supreme Court lawyer Tom Goldstein, who was in the court room Tuesday for the oral arguments, said it was “very worrisome” for the Obama administration’s side of the case.

The four liberal members of the court seemed inclined to accept the administration’s s argument that Congress has ample power under the commerce clause to regulate health insurance and to require uninsured people to join the insurance market.

Verrilli and the government were “hunting for a fifth vote -- and it really wasn’t at all obvious where that might come from,” Goldstein said.
This is not looking too good. I hope Obama has a back-up plan.

Rep. Bart Stupak is Also retiring

Rep. Bart Stupak has decided to retire from Congress this year.

Known to push the Health Care Bill over to our side, Stupak became a hero to some and enemy to others, like the foolish Tea Party.

They made him their no. 2 target after the HCR overhaul. But Stupak wasn't afraid of them:
The tea party did not run me out," he said in a telephone interview. "If you know me and my personality, I would welcome the challenge."
Stupak wants to send more time with his family, he has served 18 years in congress.

Moose Mess uses Gun Sights to target House Dems

This is low and quite desperate.

Sarah Palin's PAC is using gun sights to attack House Dems who supported the Health Care bill.
"We'll aim for these races and many others," she wrote on her Facebook page. "This is just the first salvo in a fight to elect people across the nation who will bring common sense to Washington. Please go to sarahpac.com and join me in the fight."

Mess!

Sen. Bob Bennett is trying to destroy D.C. Gay Marriage

This son of a whore is trying to kill D.C. gay marriage by creating an amendment to suspend gay marriage licenses.
Bennett is emerging as the most stalwart congressional opponent to same-sex marriage in the District. Earlier this month, he sought to attach a similar amendment to a Federal Aviation Administration Reauthorization bill. But that amendment was ruled out of order.

Bennett's latest attempt to force a referendum on the city's same-sex marriage law, which went into effect March. 3, has the support of GOP Sens. Roger Wicker (Miss), Pat Roberts (Kansas), Orrin Hatch (Utah), James M. Inhofe (Ok), and John Cornyn (Texas), according to the DCist blog.

But Senate Democrats, who are trying to keep all GOP amendments off the reconciliation bill, are widely expected to kill Bennett's amendment, which was first reported by the New York Times. Still, Bennett's determination to force a public vote on same-sex marriage in the District has caught the attention of District leaders.
Bob, you are a solid asshole! This is not your state or concern, you truly suck!
