BBC cuts Gay Sex Scene from Torchwood

Aw! Because we can't handle the truth, BBC axes a gay sex scene from Torchwood:
BBC bosses decided to cut the scene - which was set to feature bisexual Captain Jack Harkness (John) enjoying a rendezvous with a hunky barman, and due to be broadcast just 20 minutes after the 9pm watershed - as well as another gruesome part of the show because the channel feared a backlash from viewers.

A BBC spokesman told The Sun newspaper: 'The UK and US versions of Torchwood are slightly different. However, these differences do not change the story in any way and the strong storylines are first and foremost to the series.'

An insider revealed the scene was axed due to its 'graphic nature' and not because it involved homosexuality.

A source added: 'It wasn't that it was a gay scene that worried people, but just the fact it was such an explicit sex scene, full stop.
Hopefully, Starz will keep it on. I want to see!

I'm very out of the loop. I thought the 3rd season was going to be only on Starz anyway?

I hope we eventually get to see it. Maybe it'll be Shortbus graphic!

It's 2011 and the male penis is still camera shy.

British TV is way ahead of the US - I kinda believe what they've said!

What's always interesting to me is that when the powers-that-be decide to start cutting scenes like this one, they create controversy that makes us long to see them. I agree with Steve - British TV IS ahead.
