My Top 5 FAIL Moments in Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Horror in 2011
The Wonder Woman Pilot - For some reason, NBC thought they could take an iconic comic book character and hand her over to a writer with no idea on who WW is. The result? A horrible, HORRIBLE pilot for a possible series. For those who read me, know I was on this like sluts on cocks. And when I saw the pilot, I had to be talked back from the ledge. NBC and DC Comics should've been beaten for that pilot. Beaten with a salted barbwire whip.
The Buffy Reboot - Earlier this year somebody said in some studio, "Let's reboot Buffy, for no ass reason!" The minute that idea was spoke into existence, the geeks revolted. It was considered an abomination, blasphemy in the geek world. Every BTVS cast members was against it and no producer, director or writer wanted to touch it. However, one (semi-unknown) writer did and failed. Now the project is in limbo with S'ym and Magik. I speak for everybody by saying, "Thank GOD!"
Green Lantern - This movie was a fail for 3 reasons: 1. no plot 2. bad CGI and 3. Ryan Reynolds. I know, I know he's cute, but it wasn't enough. The movie went nowhere and failed to capture what most geeks love about the Green Lantern.
Scream 4 - This was an attempt to reboot the series, but all we got was a flawed script and a story that was blah. The movie takes place 10 years later in Woodsboro. Sidney returns and so does the killer or killers. Murders happen and once the truth was revealed, it just went downhill from there. It was good to see Neve Campbell as Sidney, but there was no reason for a fourth movie.
Sucker Punch - Great Hera, this movie was snap mess! It was a 12 year-old boy's wet dream and nightmare rolled into one big ole can of crap. The plot was... What can I say, there was no plot! It was about a girl who could dance, well, it was about female empowerment; no, it was about ninjas and monsters... See? It was a bouillabaisse ideas that just didn't come together. It was a complete and utter FAIL. And waste of time during my Hawaii vacation.

Here's the official synopsis of the Green Lantern Movie

News on what the Green Lantern movie is all about.
Here's the official synopsis, curiosity of ComicBookMovie
In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan.Cute. Let's see how this goes.
Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity.
With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax … he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

Could this be the Green Lantern Costume?

No, maybe, but this is the work of Comic artist, Jason Palmer.
He just did some concept art for the Green Lantern movie and here's one of his ideas:
I did some work for the upcoming Green Lantern movie. I can't show the submitted art, but this is some extra art I did as a cover to the submission pdf, but was strangely not included in the submission. Oh well. For this art, I didn't use costume designs or Reynolds ref that was provided by WB, so I can share it with you. The watermark wasn't on the origInteresting

Angela Bassett will star in the Green Lantern

Miss Angela will play the nonsense, Dr. Amanda Waller in the DC Comic flick.

Now this character is fierce, Dr. Amanda Waller is the diva!
Nicknamed "the Wall", she is a former congressional aide and government agent often placed in charge of the Suicide Squad, a semi-secret government-run group of former supervillains working in return for amnesty. She also was the former leader (code rank: White Queen) of the covert-ops organization, Checkmate. She later served as Secretary of Metahuman Affairs under President Lex Luthor, before being arrested in the wake of Luthor's public fall from grace. Waller was recently reassigned to the leadership of Checkmate as White Queen, but has been forced to resign because of her involvement in Operation Salvation Run.
I can't wait to see this character on the big screen!

Green Lantern will be in 3D

3D is taking over the world, especially in the comic book movie universe.
Warner Bros. announced that Green Lantern will be filmed in 3 ASS D:
Warner Bros. is adding two more projects to its growing portfolio of 3D films -- "The Green Lantern" and Zack Snyder's "Sucker Punch.""Green Lantern," starring Ryan Reynolds and directed by Martin Campbell, is heading into production in Louisiana with a June, 17, 2011, release date. "Sucker Punch," starring Emily Browning as a teen confined to a mental institution by her stepfather, has completed principal photography and is set for a March 25, 2011, launch.
I'm not a huge fan of 3D, I feel that it's a cheap ploy to save bad scripts. But, I'll wait and see if this will be worth it.

Mark Strong may be Sinestro in the Green Lantern movie
New news about the Green Lantern movie. There were rumors that power actor and my favorite Watchman, Jackie Earle Haley would play the yellow wielding villian, but that's not so. "No, that's completely wrong," said director Martin Campbell of the persistent rumor, which popped up again recently despite Haley denying any involvement with the "Green Lantern" movie. "In fact, we're in negotiations with Mark Strong to play Sinestro."
"He's not only a wonderful actor, but he looks like Sinestro," he added. "If you look up old pictures of Sinestro, he's very like him. The Jackie Earle Haley thing, somebody told me about it this morning; I had never heard it before in my life."
I don't know this guy, but he could be the best person. However, Jackie would have nailed it!
