Transgender Teen committed Suicide due to Parents' Rejection
Leelah Alcorn just wanted to live her life. She was a trans girl living in Ohio with her conservative parents. For years, Leelah received a lot of rejection from her parents and finally it just became too much.
Leelah committed suicide by stepping in front of a moving tractor trailer truck on the southbound Interstate 71 in Union Township Sunday morning.
Here is her last post on Tumblr:
If you are reading this, it means that I have committed suicide and obviously failed to delete this post from my queue.
Please don’t be sad, it’s for the better. The life I would’ve lived isn’t worth living in… because I’m transgender. I could go into detail explaining why I feel that way, but this note is probably going to be lengthy enough as it is. To put it simply, I feel like a girl trapped in a boy’s body, and I’ve felt that way ever since I was 4. I never knew there was a word for that feeling, nor was it possible for a boy to become a girl, so I never told anyone and I just continued to do traditionally “boyish” things to try to fit in.
When I was 14, I learned what transgender meant and cried of happiness. After 10 years of confusion I finally understood who I was. I immediately told my mom, and she reacted extremely negatively, telling me that it was a phase, that I would never truly be a girl, that God doesn’t make mistakes, that I am wrong. If you are reading this, parents, please don’t tell this to your kids. Even if you are Christian or are against transgender people don’t ever say that to someone, especially your kid. That won’t do anything but make them hate them self. That’s exactly what it did to me.
My mom started taking me to a therapist, but would only take me to christian therapists, (who were all very biased) so I never actually got the therapy I needed to cure me of my depression. I only got more christians telling me that I was selfish and wrong and that I should look to God for help.
When I was 16 I realized that my parents would never come around, and that I would have to wait until I was 18 to start any sort of transitioning treatment, which absolutely broke my heart. The longer you wait, the harder it is to transition. I felt hopeless, that I was just going to look like a man in drag for the rest of my life. On my 16th birthday, when I didn’t receive consent from my parents to start transitioning, I cried myself to sleep.
I formed a sort of a “f*** you” attitude towards my parents and came out as gay at school, thinking that maybe if I eased into coming out as trans it would be less of a shock. Although the reaction from my friends was positive, my parents were pissed. They felt like I was attacking their image, and that I was an embarrassment to them. They wanted me to be their perfect little straight christian boy, and that’s obviously not what I wanted.
So they took me out of public school, took away my laptop and phone, and forbid me of getting on any sort of social media, completely isolating me from my friends. This was probably the part of my life when I was the most depressed, and I’m surprised I didn’t kill myself. I was completely alone for 5 months. No friends, no support, no love. Just my parent’s disappointment and the cruelty of loneliness.
At the end of the school year, my parents finally came around and gave me my phone and let me back on social media. I was excited, I finally had my friends back. They were extremely excited to see me and talk to me, but only at first. Eventually they realized they didn’t actually give a s**t about me, and I felt even lonelier than I did before. The only friends I thought I had only liked me because they saw me five times a week.
After a summer of having almost no friends plus the weight of having to think about college, save money for moving out, keep my grades up, go to church each week and feel like s**t because everyone there is against everything I live for, I have decided I’ve had enough. I’m never going to transition successfully, even when I move out. I’m never going to be happy with the way I look or sound. I’m never going to have enough friends to satisfy me. I’m never going to have enough love to satisfy me. I’m never going to find a man who loves me. I’m never going to be happy. Either I live the rest of my life as a lonely man who wishes he were a woman or I live my life as a lonelier woman who hates herself. There’s no winning. There’s no way out. I’m sad enough already, I don’t need my life to get any worse. People say “it gets better” but that isn’t true in my case. It gets worse. Each day I get worse.
That’s the gist of it, that’s why I feel like killing myself. Sorry if that’s not a good enough reason for you, it’s good enough for me. As for my will, I want 100% of the things that I legally own to be sold and the money (plus my money in the bank) to be given to trans civil rights movements and support groups, I don’t give a s**t which one. The only way I will rest in peace is if one day transgender people aren’t treated the way I was, they’re treated like humans, with valid feelings and human rights. Gender needs to be taught about in schools, the earlier the better. My death needs to mean something. My death needs to be counted in the number of transgender people who commit suicide this year. I want someone to look at that number and say “that’s f***ed up” and fix it. Fix society. Please.
Goodbye,
(Leelah) Josh Alcorn
Steve Scalise claims he had no idea he was speaking to a White Power Group
Steve Scalise is really trying to get away from the White Power title. In an interview with NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune, Steve claimed that he just didn't know about EURO.
"I don't have any records from back in 2002, but when people called and asked me to speak to groups, I went and spoke to groups. It was myself and [former state Sen.] James David Cain who were opposed to the Stelly tax plan.And...
I was the only legislator from the New Orleans area who was opposed to the plan publicly, so I was asked to speak all around the New Orleans region. I would go and speak about how this tax plan was bad.
I didn't know who all of these groups were and I detest any kind of hate group. For anyone to suggest that I was involved with a group like that is insulting and ludicrous.
I was opposed to a lot of spending of spending at the state level. When people asked me to go speak, I went and spoke to any group that called."
Steve needs to give it up. How do you NOT know anything about the group your speaking to? Any why is this such a shock to him now? You would think that he learned about this EURO years later.
"I don't. I mean I've seen the blog about it. When you look at the kind of things they stand for, I detest these kinds of views. As a Catholic, I think some of the things they profess target people like me. At lot of their views run contradictory to the way I run my life.
I don't support some of the things I have read about this group. I don't support any of the things I have read about this group, but I spoke to a lot of groups during that period. I went all throughout South Louisiana.
I spoke to the League of Women Voters, a pretty liberal group. ... I still went and spoke to them. I spoke to any group that called, and there were a lot of groups calling.
I had one person that was working for me. When someone called and asked me to speak, I would go. I was, in no way, affiliated with that group or the other groups I was talking to. "
I think he's in some hot ass water right now.
The New York Times Read the NYPD for FILTH
The New York Times served a cold dish to the NYPD for their childish behavior at Mayor Bill De Blasio.
Pretty much, the image of the NYPD is going down badly and everybody knows it. Check it out:
With these acts of passive-aggressive contempt and self-pity, many New York police officers, led by their union, are squandering the department’s credibility, defacing its reputation, shredding its hard-earned respect. They have taken the most grave and solemn of civic moments — a funeral of a fallen colleague — and hijacked it for their own petty look-at-us gesture. In doing so, they also turned their backs on Mr. Ramos’s widow and her two young sons, and others in that grief-struck family.
These are disgraceful acts, which will be compounded if anyone repeats the stunt at Officer Liu’s funeral on Sunday.
I'm glad they're being called out for their foolishness.

Anti-Gay Hag Pam Bondi punts gay-marriage ruling back to Federal Judge
This damn Pam Bondi.
This cretin has now asked the judge to clarify his ruling, because the judge is best person to explain the scope of his ruling? It makes no sense, she's being a dick about this.
Here's her press release:
Pursuant to an order from the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida, the Attorney General’s Office today filed the attached response to the Washington County Clerk of Court’s Emergency Motion for Clarification. The widespread confusion that now exists, as evidenced by multiple media reports, is precisely what the Attorney General’s Office sought to avoid while seeking a stay pending final resolution in favor of either side of the issue. As stated in the response filed today, if the federal court intended the injunction to have effects beyond those that appear on its face, the court may wish to provide appropriate clarification.Read her broke ass response and more about this "punt"

GOP's New House Majority Whip Rep. Steve Scalise spoke White Nationalist Event in 2002
GOP is already in some heat!
Their new House Majority Whip Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) acknowledgedly spoke at a white nationalist gathering known as, EURO (European-American Unity and Rights Organization) when he was a state representative in 2002.
Washington Post reports:
The 48-year-old Scalise, who ascended to the House GOP’s third-ranking post earlier this year, confirmed through an adviser that he once appeared at a convention of the European-American Unity and Rights Organization.Great way to start off the new congress, GOP.
That organization, founded by former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke, has been called a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
“Beyond hosting a website, whitecivilrights.com, and staging an occasional conference, EURO is a paper tiger, serving primarily as a vehicle to publicize Duke's writing and sell his books,” the SPLC writes on its Web site.
In a statement, Scalise’s spokesperson Moira Bagley emphasized that the then-state lawmaker was unaware at the time of the group’s ideology and its association with racists and neo-Nazi activists.
Other Scalise allies, who requested anonymity to speak candidly, argued that Scalise was poorly staffed during the period, when he was busy touring the state promoting his efforts to curb state spending.
“Throughout his career in public service, Mr. Scalise has spoken to hundreds of different groups with a broad range of viewpoints,” Bagley said. “In every case, he was building support for his policies, not the other way around. In 2002, he made himself available to anyone who wanted to hear his proposal to eliminate slush funds that wasted millions of taxpayer dollars as well as his opposition to a proposed tax increase on middle-class families.”
Big in 2014: Gay Marriage

President Obama Ends of War in Afghanistan
After 13 years and nearly 3000 deaths of soldiers, President Obama ends the war in Afghanistan. It has been the longest war in history... 13 years.
NBC News reports:
"For more than 13 years, ever since nearly 3,000 innocent lives were taken from us on 9/11, our nation has been at war in Afghanistan," Obama said in a statement that came hours after the United States and NATO formally ended the war with a ceremony Sunday at a military headquarters in Kabul.
Obama said the ceremony marked a milestone for the nation and thanked U.S. troops and intelligence personnel for their "extraordinary sacrifices." Approximately 2,200 American troops were killed in Afghanistan in a war that cost the U.S. $1 trillion since the initial invasion in 2001.
"We are safer, and our nation is more secure, because of their service," he said, adding that the war effort helped the Afghan people reclaim their communities and hold historic democratic elections.
In his own statement on Sunday, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel said in 2015 the U.S. would focus on building upon the "hard-fought gains" of the last 13 years and aiding the Afghan government as the countries transitioned to "the next phase of the U.S.-Afghanistan defense relationship."
Obama acknowledged that Afghanistan remained a dangerous place, and that the role of the remaining military presence was as a supporting role to advise and assist Afghan forces. Civilian casualties in the country this year are on track to hit 10,000, and some 5,000 Afghan forces were also killed in 2014.
NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton: Officers Turning Backs to de Blasio ‘Very Inappropriate’
It was very inappropriate, tacky, childish, mess and f-ed up!
Tampa Bay Times says Pam Bondi is a ‘Modern-day Anita Bryant’ and Florida’s Loser of 2014
Tampa Bay Times doesn't mince words about Miss Bondi. See here:
It's hard to imagine how someone who won re-election so handily (rival George Sheldon could not afford a single TV ad) could emerge from 2014 more wounded and diminished as our Republican attorney general. Put aside the unseemly junkets funded by groups seeking to influence her. Bondi's clumsy communication skills and relentless defense of Florida's gay marriage ban have made her a modern-day Anita Bryant. Antagonizing Florida's gay voters over same-sex marriage and Hispanic voters over immigration reform ensures Bondi has a bright political future ahead of her — if she moves to Mississippi.Wow, well she is the worst. So, this title is a good one for her.

Don Lemon listed as one of the Worst Journalist of 2014
Oh, Don Lemon...
Columbia Journalism Review fellow's list named him the "worst journalism" of 2014.
THR reports:
The anchor has made headlines throughout the year for controversial moments during his tenure as a CNN newsroom anchor. What an honor
In a post written by David Uberti, the CJR fellow makes a case for why Lemon deserves to be ranked along with other missteps in journalism over the past year.
"As one of the most recognizable anchors on CNN, Don Lemon has helped lead the cable network’s coverage of the biggest stories of the year. Live television is exceedingly difficult to produce, of course, but Lemon’s gaffes this year offer a case study in how to choose words wisely — or not," Uberti wrote.
Lemon's comment that "Obviously, there's a smell of marijuana" during a Ferguson protest and his remarks during an interview with a Bill Cosby accuser were cited as controversial moments by Uberti. The CNN wasn't alone in the cable news world on the CJR worst list, Fox News Channel's Fox & Friends also made Uberti's list.
Also included on the list was Rolling Stone magazine, which acknowledged serious missteps in its feature report on an alleged University of Virginia campus rape. "The disintegration of the magazine’s visceral campus rape story from Nov. 19 wins this year’s media-fail sweepstakes," Uberti wrote.
On Dec. 22, Rolling Stone publisher Jann Wenner wrote in a statement that the magazine had asked Columbia Journalism School, which publishes CJR, to review the edit process of the feature.

In Glendale: Retired Cop's Party Mocks the Death of Michael Brown
This happened earlier this week and I'm floored!
At the Elks Lodge in Glendale (which is 7 miles from me) a retired LAPD officer named Joe Myersa held golf charity event. It was a typical event until Gary Fishell, a former federal investigator, sung a song about Michael Brown.
The lyrics are
“Michael Brown learned a lesson about a messin’
With a badass policeman
And he’s bad, bad Michael Brown
Baddest thug in the whole damn town
Badder than old King Kong
Meaner than a junkyard dog.
Two men took to fightin’
And Michael punched in through the door
And Michael looked like some old Swiss cheese
His brain was splattered on the floor
And he’s dead, dead Michael Brown
Deadest man in the whole damn town
His whole life’s long gone
Deader than a roadkill dog.”
TMZ has the video of this mess. The scary part about this whole thing was at least 60 of the guess were cops.
TMZ reports:
Singer Gary Fishell is a P.I. who once worked as an investigator for the Federal Government. His lawyer tells TMZ, Fishell now realizes the song was "off color and in poor taste." The lawyer adds, "He's a goofball who writes funny songs." We asked why Fishell would sing this in a room full of cops, and the lawyer replied, "He thought the room would get a kick out of it."
Joe Myers tells TMZ, "How can I dictate what he [Fishell] says in a song?" Myers goes on, "This is America. We can say what we want. This is a free America." Myers adds ... he's done this as an annual event for decades and has raised a lot of money for charity.
Someone who was at the event videotaped it because they were offended by the song and upset no one was objecting.
A trustee for the Lodge tells TMZ, the dinner was not an Elks Club event ... it was a golf tournament run by Myers and since he was a member he had a right to hold a dinner there.
The trustee tells TMZ many of the hundreds of members of the Glendale Elks Lodge are upset about the song, saying, "It's deplorable and inappropriate and the Lodge will take disciplinary action against [Fishell] and possibly the people who organized this event."
The trustee added, "We don't stand for any racist things like this."
Did You Watch The Interview?
I was curious to see if any of you watched The Interview? After all the hype and craziness, I thought I would watch it, but I haven't made up my mind just yet.
So far, I hear it's horrible, but I've watched my share of ban films so, another wouldn't hurt... I hope.

Two Miles from Ferguson, Another Black Teen shot by the Police
Not again...
Not too far from Ferguson, Antonio Martin was shot by the cops. Here's more from AP:
St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar said the officer was questioning the 18-year-old and another man about a theft late Tuesday at a convenience store in Berkeley when the young man pulled a 9mm handgun on him. The officer stumbled backward but fired three shots, one of which struck the victim, Belmar said.So many questions need to by answered.
Berkeley is just a few miles from Ferguson, Missouri, where a white police officer fatally shot Michael Brown, an unarmed black 18-year-old, on Aug. 9. Brown's death sparked weeks of sometimes violent demonstrations and a grand jury's decision to not charge Officer Darren Wilson in the shooting has spurred a nationwide movement to protest police brutality.
Belmar declined to name the 18-year-old killed in Berkeley, but a woman at the scene told reporters she was his mother and identified him as Antonio Martin. Belmar said he was 18 years old and black.
The 34-year-old white police officer, a six-year veteran of the Berkeley Police Department, is on administrative leave pending an investigation, Belmar said.
"He will carry the weight of this for the rest of his life, certainly for the rest of his career," Belmar said. "So there are no winners here."
Police released surveillance video from the parking lot outside the store. The nearly two-minute clip shows two young men leaving the store at about the time a police car rolls up. The officer gets out and speaks with them. About a minute-and-a-half later, the video appears to show one of the men raising his arm, though what he is holding is difficult to see because they were several feet from the camera. Belmar said it was a 9mm handgun.
The other man ran away, and police are searching for him.
It was the third fatal shooting of a black suspect by a white police officer in the St. Louis area since Brown was killed. Kajaime Powell, 25, was killed Aug. 9 after approaching St. Louis officers with a knife. Vonderrit Myers Jr., 18, was fatally shot Oct. 8 after allegedly shooting at a St. Louis officer.
Each shooting has been met by protests, and a crowd quickly gathered late Tuesday and early Wednesday in Berkeley. The demonstration involving up to 300 people turned violent.
More than 50 police officers, some in riot gear, responded. Video showed some wrestling with protesters. Belmar said officers used pepper spray but not tear gas. Four people were arrested on charges of assaulting officers.
These Cases could change the Country
These cases could change everything. Can you imagine if this date marks the day that gay marriage is legal in this country?
Can you imagine the how all of the anti-gay orgs will lost their shit over this? It would great if this date marks the shifting of the tide. It would be so good.
Let's hope for the best.

The Head of Protect Marriage thinks SCOTUS will rule in favor of the Haters
From Andy Pugno's press release:
"I am confident that the Supreme Court will uphold the states’ rights to define marriage. Even as Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote the majority opinion striking down the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) in 2013, he did so because it infringed upon the states’ authority over marriage. He relied on the states’ 'essential authority to define the marital relation,” and our nation’s 'history and tradition of reliance on state law to define marriage.' As a key swing vote on the Supreme Court, Justice Kennedy’s viewpoint could very well determine the outcome here. That’s why I believe the Supreme Court will ultimately rule in our favor. And when it does, we need to be ready for a nationwide 'comeback' for traditional marriage.
"If you’re like me, you probably feel as though the last couple of years have been especially dark times for marriage and the family in America. The traditional, natural family unit has been under relentless attack; and liberal, unelected judges have run amok in attempting to reform society as they see fit by judicial fiat. The legitimacy of the courts is more precarious than ever. But great victories often emerge from the darkest of times. This battle is not yet lost. I still have hope that traditional marriage will be restored in California. Do you? If you would like to help us prepare for the coming challenges, we welcome your tax-deductible and confidential contribution of any size."

Gay Actor Calls Modern Family couple a 80s stereotype and a gay equivalent of “Blackface.”'
Gay actor Tuc Watkins had some words for Modern Family's Cam and Mitch.
On his Facebook, Tuc wrote that he has 'a hard time laughing at the gay guys. In fact, I kinda cringe. It feels a little bit like the gay equivalent of “blackface.”'
And... 'It doesn’t feel “modern” at all. Sure, people come in all shapes, sizes, etc. So why are we fed such 80s stereotypes every week?'
Well, Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Mitch) responded to Tuc's statement with this:
Sorry you feel that way Tuc. I know lots of guys who are just like Cam and lots of guys who are just like Mitch. We can’t be expected to represent every gay person. We can only represent these two people. Also, Mitch is basically a version of me…so I never know how to take it when people say that he is stereotypical. And in defense of Cam, I still can’t figure out how a clown; football coach who also happens to be gay is a stereotype. When all is said and done, it’s a family sitcom. I feel our writers do a fantastic job of servicing 11 characters each week in just 22 minutes. I am incredibly proud to play Mitch and I have a lot of pride in our show. As a closeted kid of the 80′s I would have loved to have had a show like Modern Family to watch with my parents. It would have meant a lot to me to see who I secretly was reflected on television. TV has come a long way and it continues to forge new ground. I am thrilled with the work that you did on Desperate Housewives. It opened the door for shows like ours and hopefully we can hold that door open for many more shows to follow us. At the end of the day we can’t please everyone..and we shouldn’t try to. Kinda just like life, right? Take care. Jesse Tyler Ferguson. This is very interesting see right now, what do you think of this?
Interesting Quote: Rudy Giuliani
"We've had four months of propaganda, starting with the president, that everybody should hate the police. I don't care how you want to describe it -- that's what those protests are all about. The protest are being embraced, the protests are being encouraged. The protests, even the ones that don't lead to violence -- a lot of them lead to violence -- all of them lead to a conclusion: The police are bad, the police are racist. That is completely wrong. Actually, the people who do the most for the black community in America are the police."Go to Hell, Rudy

Report: 594 LGBT people were murdered in a Fifteen-month period
This isn't good.
A report identified 594 LGBT people were murdered between the beginning of 2013 and the end of March, 2014.
Buzzfeed reports:
The count was compiled by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), which is an arm of the Organization of American States. In addition to the 594 killed, an additional 176 people survived “serious attacks.” The IACHR said the real count of LGBT people killed or assaulted during this period is likely higher than these figures suggest, because the majority of countries in the Americas do not track hate crimes targeting LGBTI people. Because governments do so little documentation of such crimes, this count was largely compiled from media accounts and reports by activist organizations, and many crimes may have gone unreported.
People perceived to be transgender women and gay men were the primary targets of violence, and young people were especially at risk. Among the transgender women identified in the report, 80% were under 35. The report notes that “trans women and other gender non-conforming persons are often targeted by law enforcement agents, who tend to act upon prejudice and assume they are criminals.”
The report suggests violence against LBT women may be especially under-reported, in part because they often suffer violence from family members.

New York City Gay Bar tweets Foolish Responses to Mayor De Blasio and Al Sharpton
My Rant on Officials Blaming Mayor De Blasio, Al Sharpton and the Peaceful Protesters over the NYPD Shootings
The aftermath of the NYPD shootings were very interesting to watch.
Immediately after the murders, people put the blame on Mayor Bill De Blasio, the Eric Garner Protesters and Rev. Al Sharpton. Seriously, they did. But who are they? Well, let's get started.
Since Mayor De Blasio got into office, many in the NYPD ranks were not fans, as well as conservative leaders. After Eric Garner's murderer was cleared, the mayor spoke out on the history of violence and tension between the Black community, NYPD and the country. Also Al led a march in NYC focusing on the same issues as well last weekend.
Quickly, conservatives and disgruntled cops used all of that against them. See here:
Then, the president of the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association, Pat Lynch start clowning
Then this childish mess during the major's press conference
Real talk, NYPD Cops... Get over yourselves!
I understand that some of you are mad, but seriously, recognize the truth and history that has brought us here today. Yes, there is bad history between the community and the cops. Mayor De Blasio spoke the truth, Al Sharpton spoke the truth and right now, y'all can't handle it! There is tension, and it's been there for decades! Blaming others for calling it out and trying to change it is very silly.
Turning your back on the mayor is disrespectful and very telling about who you are as cops. To me, you proved that when it gets rough, you can't deal with it and act like teen-aged boys full of cum and rage. What happened to the cops were NOT the fault of the mayor, Al or the protesters.
This is deeper than that. This is what happens when a system is flawed and broken. This is what happens when oppression is alive and well. This is what happens no one wants to tackle the racial issues boiling on the fire.
I'm not supporting what happened, but I am acknowledging the reality of where we are now. The cops need to embrace that there has been major issues going on. And they should be open to fixing it, not turning their backs, and ignoring the actions and issues that got us here.
Learn the history and accept the truth. It's tough, but it's the only way we can more forward.

Suicide Gunman kills Two NYPD officers in Brooklyn
Yesterday, in New York was something else.
Two NYPD officers, Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos, were shot dead "execution style" in Brooklyn. The killer, Ismaaiyl Brinsley, later shot himself in the subway. Ismaaiyl warned folks on social media that this would happen. He felt that he was avenging the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner.
The murders happened a bit before 3pm yesterday. Investigators are searching through Ismaaiyl's emails and social media for more info on why this happened.
My heart goes out to the families of Liu and Ramos.

Sony Hack Reveals the Desire for Idris Elba to be James Bond
One of the good things about the Sony Hack is the news about Idris Elba being James Bond.
For a couple of years, many of us fantasized about Idris being the sexy agent. Well apparently, Sony Pictures Entertainment co-chairman and scorn queen Amy Pascal thought so, too.
On January 4, 2014, Amy sent an email to Elizabeth Cantillon, former executive vice president of production for Columbia Pictures, saying this... “Idris should be the next bond.”
Yes, he should be... He should be.
Florida AG Pam Bondi is Hurt because she LOST!
"Tonight, the United States Supreme Court denied the State’s request for a stay in the case before the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. Regardless of the ruling it has always been our goal to have uniformity throughout Florida until the final resolution of the numerous challenges to the voter-approved constitutional amendment on marriage. Nonetheless, the Supreme Court has now spoken, and the stay will end on Jan. 5."From her raggedy press release

Pam Bondi DENIED! Supreme Court refuses to Halt Same Sex Marriages in Florida
from Buzzfeed |
This is so good!
When AG Pam Bondi heard that SCOTUS would look at her request to halt marriage equality in Florida, I bet she was patting herself on the back. Well, too bad it was all in vain. SCOTUS refused her messy request and now, gay marriages can proceed after Jan. 5.
The decision means, absent some unexpected development, that same-sex couples will be able to marry beginning January 6.
Under the trial court’s order striking down the ban as unconstitutional, the injunction was stayed — or put on hold — until the end of the day January 5. State officials have appealed the ruling striking down the ban, but also asked higher courts to keep the trial court’s order on hold during that appeal.
The 11th Circuit had rejected Florida’s request and, on Friday evening, the Supreme Court did as well. Justice Clarence Thomas, who hears such applications from the 11th Circuit, referred the matter to the full court, which then denied the request.I hope she's crushed! I would pay to see it!
Both Thomas and Justice Antonin Scalia, the brief order noted, would have granted the request. The two previously have noted that they would grant such stay requests during appeals of other marriage ban cases.

President Obama said Sony "Made a Mistake" for pulling The Interview
President Obama put Sony on blast for pulling The Interview at his end-of-year news conference.
Buzzfeed reports:
“I think they made a mistake,” Obama said. The president is right.
The president said he was “sympathetic to the concerns” at Sony after a massive hack exposed embarrassing internal emails and other corporate secrets. On Friday, the FBI said North Korea was responsible for the hack.
Despite the cyberattack, Obama said canceling the release of the film was caving to North Korean demands.
“We cannot have a society in which some dictator someplace can start imposing censorship here in the United States,” he said.
Sony pulled The Interview after threats of terrorist attacks at screenings of the film. Obama contrasted the move with the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombing, when the city decided to continue the annual event despite the terror threat.
“We can’t start changing our patterns of behavior any more than we stop going to football games because there might be the possibility of a terrorist attack,” he said.
Obama also poked fun at the North Korean government for its reaction to The Interview.
“I think it says something interesting about North Korea that they decided to have the state mount an all-out assault on a movie studio because of a satirical movie,” he said. “The notion that that was a threat to them, I think, gives you some sense of the kind of regime we’re talking about here.”
Sony Hackers brag about their Success
These hackers are really rubbing it in. CNN received a message from them, cheering their success in canceling the film, The Interview.
HuffPo report:
"It's very wise that you have made a decision to cancel the release of 'The Interview,'" the message said, according to CNN. "We ensure the security of your data unless you make additional trouble."Somebody, please catch these folks.

Eric Holder says that Civil Rights Act protects the Trans Community
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said that our civil rights law protects the transgender community against workplace discrimination.
Yes, the under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Transgender folks are protected! To make it clear, it bars discrimination on the basis of gender identity... That includes the Trans community!
Eric Holder stated:
“After considering the text of Title VII, the relevant Supreme Court case law interpreting the statute, and the developing jurisprudence in this area, I have determined that the best reading of Title VII’s prohibition of sex discrimination is that it encompasses discrimination based on gender identity, including transgender status.”You can read the memo here
The ACLU Files a Response to Pam Bondi's Silly Stay Extension
The American Civil Liberties Union filed a response to Florida AG Pan Bondi's stupid and desperate attempt to stop marriage equality to SCOTUS.
The ACLU's response states that the Court should reject Florida’s request for further extension of the stay placed on a federal court’s decision that struck down the marriage ban.
The ACLU's response states that the Court should reject Florida’s request for further extension of the stay placed on a federal court’s decision that struck down the marriage ban.
“Governor Scott, his appointees, and Attorney General Pam Bondi’s efforts to delay the implementation of the order striking down the marriage ban are as senseless as they are incredibly harmful,” stated ACLU of Florida LGBT rights staff attorney Daniel Tilley. “Every day that the couples we represent and the thousands of families across Florida who are also denied the protections of marriage go without those protections, they are suffering real harm, as Judge Hinkle’s order made plainly clear. We are glad to have had the opportunity to explain to our nation’s highest court why it is time to let love win in Florida, and we are hopeful that the Court will reject Governor Scott and Attorney General Bondi’s increasingly-desperate efforts, just as it has refused all requests to stay rulings striking down discriminatory marriage bans since this October.”Go here for more from the ACLU.

Michele Bachmann Says She Outsmarted The Left
Here's a laugh for you, Crazy Eyes claims she knows how to outsmart the left.
From Right Wing Watch
From Right Wing Watch
Bachmann said she uses “evidence-based arguments” against liberals who are only able to “argue from emotionalism, they don’t argue from a logical, linear point of view, and I take them on at their false premises.”
“That’s the best way to defeat them, by the way. Defeat them with evidence and defeat them with their false premises and I did that,” she said, adding that she was able do this despite the “constant criticism” she received.
The new JEM comic book reveals the Updated Misfits
The JEM comic book has gotten fans so excited!
And now, we have the first look at The Misfits, with a twist... Jetta's Black!
This is not a stunt, the original Jetta was supposed to be Black, but it was a huge no-no to make a person of color a villain, so Jetta was made white and British. Interesting to say the least. However, this new look is really hot! I love it!
The comic book comes out next year and I can't wait!!
Bryan Brown vs David Koch
Bryan goes after David Koch in his latest email:
"I have to let you know exactly what we're up against. Recently, the news reported that David Koch—the conservative boogeyman of the left—will be interviewed by ABC's Barbara Walters for her 'The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2014' special scheduled to air on Sunday. In the interview, he unequivocally states, 'I'm basically a libertarian, and I'm a conservative on economic matters, and I'm a social liberal.' It harkens back to a 2012 Politico article where he said, 'I believe in gay marriage.' This is exactly the problem. Millionaires and billionaires are lining up in support of this radical social agenda... even on the right! And I need your help to stop it! Won't you please click here right away to make a generous donation of $35, $50, $100, $500, or $1,000 or more to help us carry out our mission of protecting marriage and the faith communities that sustain it? When the radical left—like Human Rights Campaign and Freedom to Marry, each bankrolled to the tune of tens of millions of dollars per year—pushes this agenda, they claim people are accepting gay 'marriage' in ever increasing numbers. But what they really mean is that a bunch of hyper-wealthy social liberals are trying to push this agenda on America whether they like it or not."
Sony pulls 'The Interview' due to Empty Threats
More drama from the Sony Hack.
We now know that the hack was supported by some freaks in North Korea. And, they or someone threatened to attack the theaters that will play the film, "The Interview".
In a lot of ways this sounds so silly and stupid, but Sony is afraid and they have pulled the film from release.
Here's their statement:
"In light of the decision by the majority of our exhibitors not to show the film The Interview, we have decided not to move forward with the planned December 25 theatrical release. We respect and understand our partners’ decision and, of course, completely share their paramount interest in the safety of employees and theater-goers.This is stupid. I understand, but they are basically letting the hackers win.
Sony Pictures has been the victim of an unprecedented criminal assault against our employees, our customers, and our business. Those who attacked us stole our intellectual property, private emails, and sensitive and proprietary material, and sought to destroy our spirit and our morale – all apparently to thwart the release of a movie they did not like. We are deeply saddened at this brazen effort to suppress the distribution of a movie, and in the process do damage to our company, our employees, and the American public. We stand by our filmmakers and their right to free expression and are extremely disappointed by this outcome."

Ferguson Protesters Alexis Templeton and Brittany Ferrell Wed
This is cool news.
Alexis Templeton and Brittany Ferrell first met during an interesting situation. They were protesting the death of Michael Brown in Ferguson.
During that time, they've fallen in love and took the next step by getting married at St. Louis City Hall this week.
As strong activists, they are out there fighting for justice.
But as a couple, they are proving that love can happen anytime, anyplace.

CANDY Magazine showcase Transgender Superstars
Here's info on Candy magazine
Named for the Warhol superstar Candy Darling, it’s a celebration of gender and sexual diversity that manages to be simultaneously glamorous and radical. Venegas is wrapping C☆NDY’s fifth-anniversary issue, out this week, in a special gatefold cover (“Like Vanity Fair’s Hollywood issue,” he says gleefully); it features the world’s biggest transgender names. This feels like a milestone in more ways than one. This also feels like the right moment to nag Venegas about his magnificent obsessions.
AG Pam Bondi continues her Losing Fight against Gay Marriage in Florida
Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi will not stop this foolishness!
Over a week ago, the 11th Circuit Court of denied her demand to extend a temporary stay of the marriage ruling. That stay will dissolve on January 5th and gays will be able to marry, but this heifer won't stop!
Pam has filed a motion with Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas asking for another stay on the marriage ruling. Girl, give it up! Why can't you see that you are wasting folks' time and money on a losing battle.
I get that you want to be seen as a fighter for marriage, but please, drop it.
You just look like an idiot for pushing this. A flat out idiot!
Michael C. Hall explains why he enjoys playing Gay Characters
Michael talks to HuffPo about his role as Hedwig and why he likes gay roles:
I don't know. I feel like I choose roles, and I also feel like roles choose me at times. I think I gravitate toward characters who are defined by some sense of conflict or secret keeping. I think in the case of David Fisher [on Six Feet Under], it was about the character's inherent conflict -- something that made him inherently dramatic. In case of Hedwig, it was the chance to front a rock band and sing awesome rock-and-roll music. There is something about people, for one reason or the other, who are marginalized by their circumstance that is compelling to me. That has manifested itself into me playing a few, or more than a few, characters who are gay.Cool

In the Philippines: A U.S. Marine was charged with the Murder of a Transgender Woman
Sad news, folks.
A trans woman named Jennifer Laude was killed by 19-year-old Marine, Pfc. Scott Pemberton in the Philippines. Scott is being held in a Philippine camp, under American custody.
Buzzfeed reports:
“The United States will continue to fully cooperate with Philippine law enforcement authorities in every aspect of the investigation,” the U.S. Embassy said in statement. You can check out more info on Inquirer.net, however they are not up on the Trans language. My heart goes out to Jennifer’s family and friends.
According to local media reports, Laude checked into the Celzone Lodge with a “male, white foreigner” on Saturday night. Eyewitnesses described the man as having “white complexion, with marine-style cut of hair,” standing between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10 and between 25 and 30 years old, Inquirer.net reported.
Minutes after he entered the room with Laude, the man was seen leaving the hotel alone. A hotel attendant discovered Laude’s body slumped in the toilet of the room later that night, according to police. Police said Laude showed signs of strangulation.
The victim’s friend told police that Laude met the suspect at a bar and accompanied them to the hotel. However, Laude asked the friend to leave before the suspect could discover they were transgender, according to Inquirer.net.
Billionaire David Koch says he’s a social liberal
Here’s a joke for you. Billionaire David Koch says he’s a social liberal! No, I’m not playing with you, that’s what he said. In an interview with Barbara Walter for her special “The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2014″, he said:
I’m basically a libertarian, and I’m a conservative on economic matters, and I’m a social liberal.”Here’s more:
Koch, who supports abortion rights and gay marriage, said he isn’t concerned with candidates he supports who don’t share some of his views. He said his primary concern when choosing a candidate to support is their fiscal policies.Okay, what he said makes no sense. None of his candidates are not budge savvy, if anything, they will fu*ck stuff up. If he’s such a social liberal, I would like to see him give money to candidates who support real social change.
“What I want these candidates to do is to support a balanced budget,” he said. “I’m very worried that if the budget is not balanced that inflation could occur and the economy of our country could suffer terribly.”
