Hillary Wins Big
Hillary won Connecticut, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland last night. Again, she took the minority vote but she also gained more women voters.
Bernie continues to get the white male voters, but it's not enough to break her stride. After tonight, Hillary could lose the rest of the primaries and still get the nomination. I think this is over folks.

In Connecticut: Danbur High School selects their First Gay Male Prom Queen
A high school in Danbury, CT, crowned their first gay male prom queen. Yes, history was made, so attention must be paid.
Nasir Fleming, from Danbury High School, took the stage and the crown this past Friday night. Nasir was very happy with this honor and wants his win to be a sign of acceptance.
Queerty chatted with Nasir after his win, he said:
My main reason for wanting to win prom queen is to show the school, and hopefully the world, that if a spunky, odd gay kid can win prom queen, then anyone can! This message is mainly for transgendered people, because they seem to face so much backlash for simply being themselves. If I can win a title that is out of my gender, anyone else should be able to, including transgendered people. How cool is that, right?
I also want other LGBT youth that our main purpose in life is to make ourselves happy. Very often we conform to societal norms in order to be accepted, and it is not acceptable for us to shun a perfectly fine part of ourselves. We are the innovators of the future, we are the future and we can make a change.
After the jump, I have a video of Nasir receiving his crown

In Connecticut: Federal Trial Court takes down DOMA's Marriage Definition
More DOMA fallout news!
Buzzfeed reports:
U.S. District Court Judge Vanessa L. Bryant today held in a federal case in Connecticut that Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act — the federal definition of marriage — is unconstitutional.
Bryant, in a case brought by Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders, follows several other federal judges over the past two years to have reached the same conclusion. Federal judges in Massachusetts, California and New York also have found DOMA's provision defining "marriage" and "spouse" as only being unions of one man and one woman in all federal laws unconstitutional.
Bryant found that laws that classify people based on sexual orientation should be subject to heightened scrutiny by courts — as the Department of Justice and plaintiffs argued in the case — but found the provision of the 1996 law unconstitutional "even under the most deferential level of judicial scrutiny."The walls are coming down!

Chris Dodd will Exit stage Left

Some of us heard about this, but I guess it's true. Chris Dodd is retiring.
Embattled Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd (D) has scheduled a press conference at his home in Connecticut Wednesday at which he is expected to announce he will not seek re-election, according to sources familiar with his plans.
Dodd's retirement comes after months of speculation about his political future, and amid faltering polling numbers and a growing sense among the Democratic establishment that he could not win a sixth term. It also comes less than 24 hours after Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-N.D.) announced he would not seek re-election.
State Attorney General Richard Blumenthal is widely expected to step into the void filled by Dodd and, at least at first blush, should drastically increase Democrats' chances of holding the seat.
I hope we can hold this seat, we don't need any crazy ass wingnuts taking up space.
