Dumbass Pastors in Fear of Harlem Pride
![]() |
| Harlem Pride President Carmen Neely |
"If children start to believe it is okay to be gay, they will think it's okay to be a pedophile or have sex with animals," said Dr. Ronald Ferguson, the senior pastor at Antioch Church of God on W. 124th St. "It's a slippery slope."I love how these fools use these dumb excuses. The celebration picnic is all about freedom and pride. Nobody's trying to destroy the Black family. These pastors need to get a clue and STFU.
Ferguson, who has three adult children and four grandkids, said he expects parishioners to follow his lead and stay indoors when the second annual Harlem Pride event arrives June 24.
"This gay pride nonsense is an abomination," Ferguson told the Daily News. "God does not want to see homosexuals in our parks."
Neither do Ferguson or some other local pastors fuming over the celebration of gay rights set for Marcus Garvey Park.
"The park is a family area, and the homosexual agenda will do nothing but harm the community," said Pastor Charles Curtis of Mount Olivet Baptist Church.
"Due to our religious beliefs, we do not support ... that event."

2 Men Killed during Black Pride Weekend in the ATL

Two men were shot yesterday while they were attending Black Pride in Atlanta.
This is truly sad. Hopefully, the killer is found soon. My heart goes out to the family. The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victims as Calvin Streater, 26, of Atlanta and Samuel Blizzard Jr., 21, of Spring Grove, Va.
Streater was shot in the head, according to Mark Guilbeau, senior investigator for the medical examiner's office. The autopsy on Blizzard is not complete, Guilbeau said.
Blizzard was a Georgia State University student, Channel 2 Action News reported.
A friend found the victims in an apartment at the Station at Richmond Hill Apartments, in the 1700 block of Richmond Circle.
Police told Channel 2 there were no signs of forced entry and detectives believe the victims knew their killer.
"It's my understanding that both victims in this case were here for the Black Gay Pride festivities over the weekend," Maj. Keith Meadows told the station. "We are questioning a number of their friends in an effort to retrace their steps."

LOS ANGELES BLACK PRIDE at the Beach in Malibu
Yesterday, I had a great time at the ATB (At The Beach) Black Pride celebration in Malibu, Ca.
BTW, if you haven't been to Malibu, please do, it's beautiful.
Anyway, a few of us ventured out to the beach for 2 reasons. 1) to interview folks for a mini-documentary about Black Pride and 2) just to celebrate with the Fam.
Here is a slideshow of the festivities
