Is there an Alien Ambassador for the U.N.?

Well, not really, but there where many who start to wonder. Word got that Malaysian astrophysicist Mazalan Othman was in the running to be the first AA to greet the Shi'ar and other extraterrestrials to earth.

Mazlan had this to say:

"It sounds really cool, but I have to deny it," Mazlan Othman said in an e-mail to The Guardian.
Reports about a UN alien ambassador got started when the Sunday Times reported that Othman was in the running to be the first point of contact for alien visitors. Othman was reportedly set to appear at a Royal Society conference to say that extraterrestrial contact was more likely than ever, and that Earth needed a plan to deal with their arrival.

Othman, however, told The Guardian that she will instead be talking about "near-Earth objects" at the conference rather than close encounters of the little green men kind.

Could be true, or it could be a cover up. Maybe we should check out Area 51.

The Return of V's DIANA!!!

Oh Snap! I just learned from my brother in spirit, Toddy English that the Queen Diva Bitch, Diana from V will return!

Here's the stuff from TV Guide.com:

Thank you Scott Rosenbaum for just making V a thousand times cooler. After the executive producer let slip at Comic-Con that he'd be introducing Anna's mother in V's November season premiere — and that her name would be Diana, fans went bonkers. I personally begged Rosenbaum to cast Jane Badler (so deliciously evil as lizard villainess Diana in NBC's original '80s V series) as this new incarnation of Diana, and word has just reached me that he has indeed awarded Jane the role.

Woo-hoo! When V returns, we will learn that Anna (Morena Baccarin) is keeping her mother prisoner on the mother ship in a never-before-seen section that has been designed to look like the Visitors' home planet. Both Morena and Laura Vandervoort, who plays Anna's daughter, Lisa, told me they, too, were hoping Jane would take the role. Still stunningly beautiful at age 56, Jane's Diana, who will be a recurring character, is perhaps the only reptilian being who will be able to put Anna in her place. November suddenly can't come soon enough.

Classic TV SiFi Moments: V- Robin giving birth

"V" excited me and freaked me out back in the day.

When the show premiered, it was a big ass deal. Aliens, Diana and Marc Singer's sexy self was enough to make me a believer.

But this scene, this scene was the bomb.

Poor Robin.

See District 9!

Finally, we got another SAM, A Smart Action Movie.

District 9 was a great Sci-Fi movie that really made sense. It wasn't stupid or filled with cheesy one liners, it was a smartly written and produced film.

I will be very, very vague about the plot. The story follows Wikus Van De Merwe, a mid-level manager in the alien affairs office, as he learns the truth about the aliens and the failures of our own humanity. Yes, I know, very vague.

Please see this movie! It is so good, one of the best this summer.
