10 Things I've learned since I returned to my Hometown

Since I've been back in my hometown, I have been humbled, sadden, excited and manic. To give you an idea, here are some things I've experienced:
  1. People actually drive the speed limit.
  2. There is no rush hour.
  3. If you buy or eat Godiva chocolates, you are considered rich.
  4. JC Penny is like Nordstrom here.
  5. Trucks are considered BMWs.
  6. If you want everyone know you're in town, go to Wal-Mart.
  7. Vegans are like an alien race.
  8. BBQ is fast food, Steak houses are worshiped.
  9. Country boys are so hot.
  10. No one believes this is my real hair because no man wants long hair.

My Hometown is featured in a Reality Show

Glamour Belles is a reality show based on a fashion store in my hometown of Union City, Tennessee.

I have a couple clips for y'all to check out. This one features an old friend of mine, Stephanie (with the brown hair). She was EMO back in the 90s... Funny how life changes.

Here's another one, hinting on Stephanie's style

Yes, I used to talk like that. Those of you who have met me know my accent is nothing like this anymore.

I want to go Home... But I don't know why

I have been really thinking about my hometown, Union City, Tennessee.
So much happened there: my birth, my love for boys and comic books, my first heartbreak and my first bj (giving).

For some reason, I'm drawn back to the area. I don't know why, I just want to go back to the small neighborhoods and the long nights of boredom.

So, I think I'm going to spend a few days down South. I need to figure out why I have this need to return home. Is it something there that's unresolved? I don't know... I don't know why Union City has become a part of my summer travel plans.

It's interesting really, I spent most of my teen years trying to get out and now, I want to go back.

What Happened at the Glenn Beck's Hometown Key Acceptance Event?

Baby New Year, Glenn Beck went back to Mount Vernon to accept the key to his hometown.

Some folks were happy to see him, in fact, you can see how "happy" they were.

Wish I was there.
