Foolishness Alert: Mat Staver says Annise Parker should Resign if she can't do her job

Mat Staver from the Liberty Counsel has some nerve.

On this "Faith and Freedom" radio show, Mat said that if Houston's mayor Annise Parker can't do her job, she should resign.

Mat said:
"That is like a CEO of a company who says you need to boycott our company," Staver said, "stop buying products from our company because we have a policy that I, the CEO, don't agree with even though the board of directors has ultimately voted for this policy, so stop patronizing our company. Well, you know what, if that's what your feeling is, resign from the company. Mayor, if you want people to boycott Houston, why don't you just resign and let somebody else who wants to run the mayor's office and represent the city of Houston and all of the taxpayers and citizens of Houston? Why don't you just let someone else do it because, frankly, you haven't been doing a very good job."
Wait.. Wait a minute. How is he going to tell her to do her job, when he's supporting Kim Davis to do the oppositie? The Hypocrisy is so thick. Seriously, Mat look at your own backyard, boo boo.

In Texas: Mayor Parker Drops Subpoenas against Anti-Gay Pastors

In an interesting turn of events, Mayor Annise Parker will withdraw its controversial subpoenas of five pastors tied to a lawsuit over the city's equal rights ordinance (HERO).

Days ago, I posted the press conference from the religious leaders, claiming they would rather go to jail than support HERO. After a meeting with these 'leaders', Mayor Parker decided to let it go.

Here's more:
The announcement came amid a national firestorm about the subpoenas, which have prompted outrage among Christian conservatives. Parker said two meetings yesterday, one with local pastors and another with national clergy, persuaded her to pull the subpoenas altogether.

"The goal of the subpoenas is to defend against the lawsuit and not to provoke a public debate," Parker said.

She is ordering the subpoenas removed for the sake of Houston, not because the request were in any way illegal or intended to intrude on religious liberties, Parker said.

"I didn't do this to satisfy them," Parker said of critics. "I did it because it was not serving Houston."

In Houston: LGBT Nondiscrimination Ordinance vote Delayed for 2 weeks

The Houston City Council hosted a debate over the LGBT nondiscrimination ordinance. Haters tried to paint their bigotry over the idea, while LGBT activists presented why it is the right thing to do.

However, the biggest issue was about Transgender access to bathrooms. At the 11th hour, Mayor Annise Parker made a last-minute change to the draft, in an attempt to deal with the critics. Because of this, the vote was pushed back.

Pastor David Grisham is an Asshole

Pastor David Grisham is so shaken by the new Houston mayor, Annise Parker, he wants to boycott her.

Lesbianism doesn't poison you, idiot!
Launched just a few days ago, www.boycotthouston.com is Grisham's way of giving righteous Texans a chance to send a message to Houstonians that they have sinned by electing an openly gay mayor and by allowing a super-sized abortion clinic to be built here.

"The main reason for the boycott is simply because it's about the only way that people in the rest of the state of Texas -- outside of Houston -- can actually take a stand for righteousness in the city of Houston," Grisham tells Hair Balls. "Now, Jesus said that we were to preach the gospel through all the world, and that includes Houston, Texas"
Jesus don't need you to do a goddamned thing. Somebody smack him, please.

Annise Parker Victory Speech

Annise Parker wins Houston mayoral race!

It was special, dramatic and crazy, but it's over.

Out lesbian, Annise Parker wins Houston mayoral race.

In a close run-off race of historic proportions, Houston voters chose City Controller Annise Parker as Houston's next mayor. Parker defeated attorney Gene Locke Saturday with about 53 percent of the vote (with 99 percent of the precincts in). When sworn in in early January, she will become the first lesbian to hold the office of mayor of a major American city and only the second woman. Kathy Whitmire held the office from 1982-1991.

A three-term city council member and three-term controller, Parker touted her experience and credentials as a fiscal conservative. She promised to keep a tight rein on spending during tough economic times. Parker was endorsed by City Councilman Peter Brown, who placed third in the November general election. Brown appeared at Parker's victory party at the George R. Brown Convention Center.

Get it, girl!
