Yes, one of the classic team members eats dirt in upcoming issue.
The Fantastic Four — superheroes whose creation nearly 50 years ago helped usher in the Silver Age of comics for Marvel — is about to become a trio.
Marvel Comics said Wednesday that a member of the foursome — Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch and the Thing — will die in issue No. 587 next month, a change that the company said will ripple across the Marvel Universe like never before.
But who will die? That's a secret protected with more might than the Incredible Hulk and Sentry possess, but executive editor Tom Brevoort, who oversees the comic book, says plenty of clues have been offered during the course of writer Jonathan Hickman's run, including the current "Three" story line.
"I think we've given plenty of hints as to who may die — perhaps too many, in that every one of our lead characters is left in a dire, life-threatening situation the month before," Brevoort told The Associated Press. "So, hopefully, that will help to heighten the suspense, while preserving the surprise as to which member doesn't make it out alive."
Marvel is taking no chances in trying to contain that secret like it were the wish-granting Cosmic Cube itself.
Readers will find out for themselves when "Fantastic Four" No. 587 is released in January, though it'll be wrapped in a black polybag designed to keep snoops from finding out and spilling the news.I think it's Johnny (Human Torch)

Yeah, so what? Like the X-men, they'll eventually find a way to bring the killed FF member back. Might take 'em a decade but Marvel WILL retcon it some how.

Oh and I'm going with Ben Grimm. Personally, I enjoyed it when She-Hulk was with the team here and there.
I think you're right; he's the one the Marvel Universe could easiest live without. Ben is in the Avengers, Reed apparently has more Illuninati stuff coming up, and they know that I would fly up there and whip their ass if they kill Sue.
Ben is on the Avengers and they have said that he is in future storylines with them. Ben is safe.
Reed is possible, but without him the teams role in the Marvel universe becomes insignificant. Reed is the feather in their cap. He makes the team important. Reed is pretty safe.
Sue has two kids. Reed is not a great Dad or husband honestly. I don't think Marvel would take a Mom away from her kids. (I could be wrong though) I think Sue is safe.
My bets are on Johnny. He has probably contributed the least to the Marvel U out of these four. He adds a youthful, silly bravado to the team, but he can be replaced with someone Spidey like pretty easily. Granted the same could be said for Ben, but future storylines that include him is all that saves him at this point.
While Johnny would be the most logical death. Reed or Sue would have significantly more "impact across the Marvel U". So we'll have to wait and see.
Regardless, whoever dies, will be back within a few years. So don't cry too hard. Cap got back just in time to bury an FF'er.
Back in the 90's Reed was "killed" off for a pretty long period of time. They replaced him with Namor, Lyja, Ant-Man, Kristoff Vernard and a teenage version of their son Franklin helping here and there. It was a decent story arc with Sue taking charge and . Of course they retconned it into Reed just being transported to another place by his future grandson Hyperstorm. They really lamed that up.
I remember that, Paul. I think Sue was wearing some Ho outfit at that time as well.
@Vic-yeah she did wear some horrid outfits. Guess we know what keeps her with Reed because when he was away she wore her freak flag on the outside!
