Interesting Quote: President Obama

That's why today, I'm calling on each of you to set your own goals for your education - and to do everything you can to meet them. Your goal can be something as simple as doing all your homework, paying attention in class, or spending time each day reading a book. Maybe you'll decide to get involved in an extracurricular activity, or volunteer in your community.

Maybe you'll decide to stand up for kids who are being teased or bullied because of who they are or how they look, because you believe, like I do, that all kids deserve a safe environment to study and learn. Maybe you'll decide to take better care of yourself so you can be more ready to learn. And along those lines, I hope you'll all wash your hands a lot, and stay home from school when you don't feel well, so we can keep people from getting the flu this fall and winter.
Whatever you resolve to do, I want you to commit to it. I want you to really work at it.

This is from Obama's EVIL speech to the kids. Oh, he mentions Harry Potter, so there's proof he's trying to invoke witchcraft and demonology into schools.

Ha! I love the photo.

The way the political Right has blown up this issue is a bit ridiculous. Even the most controversial piece about having the children write down ways in which they could help their president was blown way out of proportion, even by some moderates like Chris Matthews.

It is just another sign of how partisan the country has become, where the POTUS is only really the POTUS of a select few.

How dare President Obama encourage kids to set goals for themselves. Who does he think he is to tell someone's child to take care of themselves. He has a lot of nerve putting out a speech that shows he cares about the young people of this country.

I prefer the good old days when Ronald Reagan's administration informed school dietitians that ketchup could be considered a serving of vegetables.

Praise should be given to Georgie Bush for reducing the journey of becoming educated, to a process in which children are drilled for months in order to pass tests that evaluate them in only two areas of intelligence.

Be afraid America! Obama wants children to become self-empowered and develop of sense of purpose in their lives. It's shocking!

I love this man so much. I probably would have done even better in school if he'd been around at the time.
