Conrad Murray Found Guilty in Death of Michael Jackson

Well, my mama called it!
After nearly six weeks of testimony and several gasp-inducing courtroom moments, the jury in the involuntary manslaughter trial against former Michael Jackson doctor Conrad Murray rendered a guilty verdict Monday (November 7) after almost nine hours of deliberation.

The verdict came after 49 witnesses took the stand and the prosecution presented often-bruising testimony against Murray, a cardiologist with clinics in Texas and Las Vegas who was recruited in 2009 by Jackson to help the then-50-year-old star stay healthy in the run-up to his planned 50-date comeback tour, This Is It.

Johannes Mehserle was convicted of involuntary manslaughter of Oscar Grant

The verdict is in. Johannes Mehserle was convicted of involuntary manslaughter of Oscar Grant.

LA Times reports:
Hundreds of people have gathered in downtown Oakland near 14th Street and Broadway, angered that a former BART officer was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter instead of a more severe second-degree murder conviction.

The crowd is tense, holding up signs decrying the verdict, and some holding up pieces of paper with the photo of Oscar J. Grant III, the unarmed black man who was fatally shot by white BART Police Officer Johannes Mehserle at the Fruitvale Station in Oakland.

But there are no reports of violence, according to local television reports. Workers in downtown Oakland cleared out late this afternoon, hoping to avoid a possible disturbance. Oakland police were on the scene in riot gear

.

The Mayor of Oakland, Ron Dellums called for folks to stay calm

He only gets 2 to 4 years... This is ridic!

Lateisha Green's Murderer Found Guilty

A New York jury has convicted Dwight DeLee of a hate crime for killing Lateisha Green.

If you haven't heard, Lateisha, a transgender woman, was shot by Dwight because of his foolishness and ignorance.

When this happened, there were reports of witnesses being threaten, but it didn't stop the trial. The jurors knew what was going on.

Dwight was found guilty of manslaughter and will get more time because he is also guilty of a hate crime. However, it should be 1st degree murder instead of manslaughter, but I'll marinade on that for awhile.

I hope Lateisha's family found justice and I hope Latesisha can rest in peace.

For more about Lateisha, please go over to TransGriot's blog for the complete coverage of her story.

Now Angie can Rest

Allen Andrade was convicted of first-degree murder and a bias-motivated crime and sentenced to life in prison for killing Angie Zapata.

If you don't know the story, here it is.

Allen and Angie met online last summer where they spent nearly three days together at his apartment. After finding out that she was a transgendered woman, Allen attacked her and killed her.

Now, the verdict was given and justice was served.

It the first time in the nation that a state hate crime statute was used to prosecute a transgender person's murder, the advocacy group Gay Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation said.

Seated in the front row of the courtroom, the family of Justin "Angie" Zapata broke out in tears as the verdicts were read.

The jury deliberated for just under two hours before returning the verdict shortly after 3 p.m.

Jurors will return to court later this afternoon to consider Andrade's sentence. He faces life in prison without parole.

"This is a landmark decision," said Mindy Barton, the legal director of the GLBT Community Center of Colorado. Barton attended the trial daily.

"Hearing 'guilty on first-degree murder' and 'guilty of bias-motivated crime' was a hugely emotional experience for all the family, friends and the supporters of Angie," Barton added.

"She will not be forgotten."

Cuadra found Guilty

A jury in Luzerne County has found accused killer Harlow Cuadra guilty of first-degree murder.

Cuadra was accused of killing Bryan Kocis at his Back Mountain home in January, 2007. Prosecutors said Cuadra and his former lover and business partner, Joseph Kerekes, killed Kocis because he was a rival in their gay pornography business. Kocis' home was torched to cover up the crime.

Kerekes pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in December. He is serving a life sentence.
Jurors heard testimony in the case for more than two weeks.

Cuadra took the stand in his own defense Tuesday and Wednesday. He claimed he was innocent and Kerekes was, in fact, the one who killed Kocis.

When you think about it, all of this was over some underperforming twink...sad world.

Todd Palin's GUILTY

Todd Palin and other loyalists to Alaska's first family were found guilty in contempt by the Alaska Senate for not appearing to testify in the infamous Troopergate investigation of Moose Mess during the presidential campaign.

However, this cute bastard must have an angel over him, because the Senate said that no one should be punished. The reason is they all sent some kind statement over to the investigators, meaning the participated in some way.

But I don't think Todd cares, he could easily use his pirate separatist buddies to reign hell upon Alaska if he needed to.

Larry Denied, Still Guilty of Failed Bathroom Sex

I can't think about a sex sting operation without mentioning Larry Craig. The poor fool has been trying so hard to deny his homosexuality and remove his guilty plea from the records. Well his hard work didn't pay off.

The Minnesota Court of Appeals on Tuesday denied his effort to remove his guilty plea to a misdemeanor offense of disorderly conduct around his bathroom sex scandal.

"Because we see no abuse of discretion in the denial and conclude that the statute is not overbroad, we affirm" a lower court's decision, the three-judge panel wrote in a 10-page ruling.

In a written statement, Craig said he was "extremely disappointed" by the action and was considering an appeal.

"I disagree with their conclusion and remain steadfast in my belief that nothing criminal or improper occurred at the Minneapolis airport," Craig said.

And he should be "extremely disappointed". He got caught, didn't get off, and didn't get off. And now he will have the guilty plea to remind him of that.

Boy George is GUILTY

One of my favorite tortured artist was found guilty today. Boy George was convicted of falsely imprisoning a male escort. Boy G. handcuffed the guy to his bed because he thought the escort was tampering with his computer.

But the escort claimed that Boy George made up the story so he could punish him for not having sex from an earlier "date" (that's what the hookers call it). Boy George was given bail and his sentencing will be on January 16, where he will likely get jail time.

This is a sad example of falling gay star, let's not follow in his footsteps...or at least find an escort that likes handcuffs.

Say it Ain't So, O.J.!

Well it was going to happen. O.J. Simpson found guilty of all 12 counts in the armed robbery of two sports memorabilia dealers at a Las Vegas.

Why, O.J.? Why did you mess up like this? They been trying to get you since 1994, and now this foolishness!

However, this is the interesting part:
The jury of nine men and three women, none of them African-American, reached its verdict after 13 hours of deliberations Friday. Jurors heard from 22 witnesses over 12 days of testimony. Chief among the witnesses were seven of the nine people inside Room 1203 of the Palace Station Hotel and Casino for the September 13, 2007 confrontation.

Yes, he was wrong, but could this be revenge? Again, people has been after O.J. for years. Was it a fair jury? Who knows, but I know O.J. is finally seeing what karma really is.
