Huge Racial Divisions in Reactions to the Michael Brown Shooting

Finally, there is a poll that points out the racial divide in the Michael Brown incident. The new poll was conducted by the Pew Research Center during Aug. 14-17 among 1,000 adults. The info was surprisingly, not shocking, but disheartening to read.

Here are some key findings:

• 37% of whites think the ‪‎Michael Brown‬ shooting "raises important issues about race."
• 47% of whites think "race is getting more attention than it deserves."
• 33% of whites say the police have gone too far
• 32% of whites say the police response has been about right
• 35% of whites offer no response

This is really sad to see. We are not moving fast enough in 2014. We still have a long road ahead.

Huge change in the American Racial Makeup by 2042

U.S. Census Bureau’s latest study tells us that by 2042, racial minority groups will become the majority of the U.S. population.

The Pew Research Center released a new study showing how white Americans will fall from 85% of the population to a possible 43%.

Also, the number of Hispanic and Black Americans will make up 45% of the population by 2060.

The catalyst for the upcoming change has a lot to do with immigration and inter-racial marriages. However, this development will probably increase racial issues and the rise of militias.

The Black Support in Marriage Equality is Rising

A new Pew Research Poll, highlights the rising support of gay marriage within the Black community.

In the national exit poll led by Edison Research for NEP, Black voters favored gay marriage by a 51% to 41% margin. In fact, it tops White voters at 47% to 49% margin.

The latest polling by the Pew Research Center also finds some narrowing of long-standing racial differences in attitudes toward gay marriage. Consistently over the past decade, blacks have been far less supportive of legalizing gay marriage than whites. In 2011, for example, 49% of whites favored legalizing gay marriage, compared with just 36% of blacks.

But the latest survey conducted two weeks ago found blacks divided more evenly on this issue than in the past, with 44% in favor and 39% opposed to allowing gay marriage. Among whites, 49% favored and 41% opposed same-sex marriage.

This is good, considering how much religion plays in the mindset of the Black community. This is damn good.

Newsflash: Republicans are not Fans of ending DADT, especially the Tea Party

This isn't a surprise, but maybe it is to the silly gays who voted GOP this election. The Pew Research Center for the People and the Press and the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life found out how the Repubs really feel about repealing DADT.

According the poll, Republicans are divided on whether to allow open service by gays and lesbians -- 40% of Republicans favor it and 44% oppose. Perhaps as important, key groups likely to have an influence on Republican policies are even more opposed to allowing open service. The Pew report notes that among those who said they "agree with the Tea Party" only 38% favor and 48% oppose allowing open servece. Similarly, only 34% of white evangelical Protestants favor and 48% oppose allowing gays and lesbians to serve openly. Lack of Republican support could prevent the Obama administration from ending the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy, especially if Congress doesn't vote on ending the policy before the end of this year's lame-duck session.

Hopefully, in the next 2 weeks of hearings for DADT and Prop 8; many gay folks will see how the GOP were never on our side. If Sen. McCain's rants and Sen. Graham's stance on DADT isn't enough, then the Tea Party folks should seal the deal.

This is very telling about the GOP and to those gays who voted for the Repubs, I hope you realized what you did.

This Poll says That Churchfolk are Supporters of Torture

Interesting stuff...churchgoers are more likely to support torture of suspected terrorists, according to the Pew Research Center.

More than half of people who attend services at least once a week -- 54 percent -- said the use of torture against suspected terrorists is "often" or "sometimes" justified. Only 42 percent of people who "seldom or never" go to services agreed, according to the analysis released Wednesday by the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life.

White evangelical Protestants were the religious group most likely to say torture is often or sometimes justified -- more than six in 10 supported it. People unaffiliated with any religious organization were least likely to back it. Only four in 10 of them did.

The president of the National Association of Evangelicals, Leith Anderson, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

So basically they are hypocrites, but it's not a surprise. These are the same folks that will try to beat demons and homosexuality out of people, sexually molest kids and steal money in the of God. Should we be that shocked of the survey's outcome?
