In Louisiana: Gunman Open Fire in a Movie Theater

When you thought it was safe in the movie theater... This happens.

Last night, a gunman open fire in a movie theater in Lafayette, Louisiana. This murderer killed two people, injured seven others, then he killed himself.

Most reports said that the gunfire broke out during a 7pm showing of the film "Train Wreck". A witness said that an older white man stood up in the theater and start shooting people.

Strange, because it was three years ago this week the shooting in Aurora, Colorado.

My heart goes out to the families.

True Blood Season 7: Lafayette gets a new Boyfriend

For the final season of True Blood, Lafayette gets another shot at love. "Drake" will be the new man in his life.

TV Line has the scoop about him:
Described as a cross between Jim Morrison and James Dean, this brooding and insanely good-looking vamp is a compassionate protector with a poet’s edge. The series-regular role calls for a twentysomething actor who is comfortable performing in simulated (and near-naked) sex scenes with another man in front of the director, assistant director, stage manager, script supervisor, camera operator, first assistant camera, second assistant camera, boom operator, production sound mixer, key grip, best boy grip, gaffer, lighting technician, makeup artist, hairdresser, costume designer, a half-dozen production assistants and Sally with craft services (who shouldn’t be peeking in but probably will be).
I'm interesting in seeing how this works out. Hopefully, good for Lafayette.

Interesting Quote: Nelsan Ellis

That people like that character [Laughs]. There’s something about the dude that’s likeable. Even I was watching myself and criticizing myself—I go, “I like that dude.” The most intriguing thing about him is his strength and his stillness. If you watch Lafayette he doesn’t do very much. He’s not quick on his toes unless he gets heated. He’s just in that Southern way—sort of sauntering along, being who he is which is something I never intended. It just happened.

Lafayette gets a man in True Blood!

Well we got a gay king, a hot ass werewolf and now, a man for Lafayette!

True Blood will bring him a possible love interest for season 3.

EW says:
It’s happening: Lafayette is getting a boyfriend! A True insider tells me that Alan Ball is quietly searching for a sexy Latino actor in his 30s to play a lust interest for everyone’s favorite same-gender-lovin’ blood dealer. (Over the summer, Ball confirmed that viewers would see a more “vulnerable” Lafayette in season 3.)
Hot! I wonder if his "man" will have special powers?

Is Lafayette coming back to True Blood?

I hope Lafayette comes back. At the end of TB's first season, something attacked Lafayette and we were led to believe that he's...I can't say it.

However, I found this piece of info that really didn't help things at all.
When will we find out who's dead in the car on True Blood? — Neil

MICKEY: Since the season premiere (airing Sunday, June 14, 9 pm/ET) picks up right where we left off, the victim's identity is revealed in short order. As you might have already guessed, Season 2's first casualty is related to Tara, but not in a way that you will guess. At first blush, the significance of said death will not be apparent, but just wait! Also, a minor character's drinking problem will resurface — hilariously.

Nope, didn't help at all.

Dear HBO...

Please don't kill off Lafayette!
He's one of the best gay characters we got and he brings it every time. For once, we don't have the model-like, myopic, boring, club hopping gay. We have Lafayette, something fresh and exciting. True Blood is exciting and keeping him on the show will take it over the top!

The ending was questionable, but please let him stay. He's the best thing to happen to gay characters in long long long time.

Keep Lafayette Around!! Oh, and True Blood ROCKS!!!

P.S. if you can, cast a spell to erase The Lair from existence.

Best. Gay. Scene. Ever

We don't have many gay characters with real sass. Lafayette is the best gay character I have seen in a long time. He smart, non stereotypical, something different, exciting, independent, and of color. Plus, he represents the gays from the back streets. Killing the believe that all gays live in major cities.

What sold him to me was this scene here. Noah, Brian, Ted, Michael have nothing on this man.
