A JEM Movie is actually Being MADE!!! UPDATE

A Jem and the Holograms feature film is coming thanks to the director Jon M. Chu. They have made a video to push this venture! I am excited, worried, but excited!

UPDATE

THR reports big changes to the Jem mythos:
According to the producers, Jem is being reimagined "for a whole new generation with themes of being true to who you are in a multitasking, hyperlinked social media age." Ryan Landels wrote the script, which, per the producers, centers on an orphaned teenage girl who becomes an online recording sensation. She and her sisters embark on a music-driven scavenger hunt -- one that sends them on an adventure across Los Angeles in an attempt to unlock a final message left by her father.

Dream Casting for a Live Action JEM Movie in 1986

What if they made a JEM movie in the 80s? It would have been cute, if fact, it would have been outrageous!

But who would have been a part of the amazing cast? Well, y'all know me, I took the time to cast the film as if I was doing this in 1986.

So check out the cast after the jump

Is Jem making a Comeback?

I don't know what to think about this. I need more info before I get excited or scared, but here is the news:

It’s still very early yet. And like a lot of projects in the early-stages, they never materialize. But I can report that the movie is in not only in development, but that at least initially, someone named John Chu (The Secret of the Magic Gourd) was attached to direct the project.

But wait — before you get your twisters in a knick, Universal and Hasbro are trying to decide now whether to go ahead with the movie, or launch a new television series first. That’s still an open question, although no matter which way it goes, Peter Barsocchini is in the mix, to either produce or write the script — he scripted all four High School Musical films. At this stage, the movie looks at least a couple of years down the road.

I want to work on this! I would do anything to do it!

Okay, I'm calm down, but I would do it right.

Still, I'm afraid to fall for this news just yet.

My Jem Movie Casting: Jacqui Benton

Jacqui Benton, the mother of Jerrica and Kimber should be played by Deborah Gibson.

I just think it would be a great match and most of us still love our Debbie.

My Jem Movie Casting: Jem

This was a hard one and I may change it; but when I see her, I can see Jem/Jerrica.

My Jem is Kristen Bell

My Jem Movie Casting: Eric Raymond

Eric was the sleaziest man in the biz. Felonies, kidnapping, blackmail, theft...You name it, Eric did it.

But when I thought about who could play him, only one person came to mind.

Jeremy Piven

He has the devilish, sexy thing down.

Plus he could give Eric a new type of sleaze (in a good way).

My Jem Movie Casting: Rio

This was hard, but I think this guy can pull it off.

If I could cast a person to play Rio, it would be...Nicholas D'Agosto

He was the flying guy in Heroes and the co-star of the movie, Fired Up

And Speaking on a JEM Movie...Here is my Pizzazz

I would love to cast Lady GaGa as Pizzazz.

Her style and guile oozes Phyllis Gabor. To me, she would be perfect for the role.
