Mark Carson's Murderer: 'Guy thought he was tough in front of his b---- so I shot him. Diagnosis is dead, doctor.'

Elliot Morales, the man who shot and killed Mark Carson in the West Village pleads not guilty yesterday.

Elliot bragged about killing Mark to the cops, and had more to say that night. According to NY Daily News, Elliot said:
"He thought he was tough, and I shot him. It's the last thing he'll remember," and
"Guy thought he was tough in front of his b---- so I shot him. Diagnosis is dead, doctor."
These statements are in the court documents, noted in yesterday's arraignment. This man is sick, I want him to get help and pay for what he has done.

The Murderer of Mark Carson uses the Sexual and Drug Abuse Excuse

Elliot Morales murdered Mark Carson this past weekend. He shot Mark in the head and later, laughed and bragged about it.

Yesterday, he was supposed to be in court. He didn't show, however his attorney did and he claimed there were reasons why he killed Mark.

NY Daily News reports:
The lawyer, Kevin Michael Canfield, later said Morales is not guilty of the slaying and is "devastated by the charges."
"He didn't murder anybody," Canfield said, suggesting there were other factors at play."He was sexually abused as a child by a male authority figure which led to a lifetime of alcoholism and drug abuse," Canfield told the Daily News, adding, "It's a terrible tragedy."
How dare this attorney take this route? It is the biggest and worst excuse used every time murders like this happens. Many people have been sexually abused, but they don't turn into murderers! Elliot murdered Mark and was proud of it!

I don't give a damn about his hardships. It is the cheapest of excuses, and we should not let him hide behind it!

Mark Carson was the Gay Man who was Killed in Greenwich Village

Mark Carson was the man that was murdered by a homophobic gunman in Greenwich Village this weekend. Last night, folks held a vigil for home.

Here's more about Mark:
Mr. Carson, who was 32, had recently moved to Brooklyn from Harlem after scrimping and saving money from his job at a yogurt shop in Midtown, according to Kay Allen, a friend for more than a decade.
“He was a proud gay man,” Ms. Allen said. “A fabulous gay man.” She noted that he loved going to the Village.
“His spirit was too big for this city,” she said. “He didn’t have a negative bone in his body.”

Mark was killed because he was gay. I never thought that NYC, especially the Village would be considered a dangerous place. For many years, my friends and I would hang out in the Village. I never thought twice about my safety, in fact, I felt completely at ease there.

For the friends and family of Mark, my heart goes out to you.

To the fam of NYC, stay strong.

Gay Man was Shot Dead in Greenwich Village

Horrible news from NYC. Recently, the city has been experiencing a lot of hate crimes toward gay men. Late last night was really bad.

Here's the scoop:
A gay man was shot dead in Greenwich Village early today after he was chased out of a restaurant and called homophobic slurs, authorities said.
The 32-year-old Brooklyn victim was shot in the head at about midnight at West 8th Street and Sixth Avenue and died at Beth Israel Hospital.
His name was not released pending family notification, cops said.
The gunman ran five blocks before cops collared him at West Third Street and MacDougal Street, according to police radio transmissions.
The shooter appeared crazed and confessed to the shooting after he was nabbed, a police source said.
“It was a quickie. He shot him and he went straight to the ground,” said a bouncer at a nearby club.
“Half his body was lying on the sidewalk and half was on the street.”
City Council Speaker Christine C. Quinn said she was horrified by the attack.
“There was a time in New York City when two people of the same gender could not walk the street arm-in-arm without fear of violence and harassment,” she said. “We refuse to go back to that time.”
