Atlanta Fire Chief Fired For ‘Anti-Gay’ Views ‘Absolutely’ Wants His Job Back

After being fired for writing an anti-gay book and joining hate groups to fight against marriage equality, former Atlanta Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran thinks he deserves his job back. He feels that he's being punish for being a bigot  a man of faith.

"The Times has just declared war on Christians and members of other faith communities that serve in government position. It is open season, according to the New York Times, to make sure that we lose our jobs. The new authoritarians now state openly that we can have our beliefs—we simply can’t talk about them. And then they are going to actually have the gall to say that 'this is not about free speech or religious freedom.' This is OUTRAGEOUS. And I know you are as concerned as I am about this, because of the many emails and phone calls we've received. Now it’s time to turn outrage to action to stop the New Authoritarians. NOM is supporting legislation at the state and federal level to stop the attack on marriage and religious liberty. I urge you immediately to contact your Congressman and urge him or her to pass the Marriage and Religious Freedom Act which will help protect religious liberty at the federal level."

Religious leaders and crackheads gather outside of the Georgia State Capitol to protest a decision by Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed over Atlanta's Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran. As you will see there are hate leaders in the foaming at the mouth about this. Tony Perkins, Alveda C. King, and others are just talking about nonsense.

NOM wants to save Anti-Gay Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran

Kasim Reed, the Mayor of Atlanta, GA, fired the city's Fire Chief, Kelvin Cochran. The reason was for his extreme religious views in some book he wrote.

Well, guess who comes to Kelvin's rescue... NOM! In their latest email blast, they try to "save" him.

 vik, this is an outrage, and we need to speak out against it! 

Please click here to sign a petition of support for Mr. Cochran and to urge the Mayor to reinstate him as Fire Chief and formally apologize to all people of faith for this harmful action. Mr. Cochran was simply exercising his First Amendment rights, publishing a book as a private individual and not making any claims as a representative of the city. 

His views—which, incidentally, are views shared by a majority of Georgians and a majority of people throughout the country and across the globe—have no bearing on whether he is fit to serve as the city's Fire Chief. There is simply no justification for firing him on the basis of this book! But, of course, the radical gay agenda isn't interested in the First Amendment, or in the values of tolerance and respect for a diversity of opinions. They simply want to silence any opposition and turn traditional values about marriage and family into the social and legal equivalent of hate speech and bigotry. We cannot stand by and allow this kind of bullying and intimidation to continue.

Too bad this is a wasted effort.
