DIVA Moment - Jobriath

Before gay music became horrid dance beats, there was raw rock of Jobriath.

This bitch brought it and brought it well. He was the glam rocker who was openly gay and in your face. Sadly, his career didn't take off, but his work is forever classic. Check it out.

BENT-CON was a Blast!

Yesterday, I went to Bent-Con, a comic-con for the gays. This was its first year and I believe it's off to great start for the future.

Several comic book and Sci-Fi writers and artists were present for the event. I spent quite a bit money yesterday, but I didn't mind. I'm supporting the work of highly talented gay people.

I was very fortunate to meet the some the writers and artists. You could tell how passionate they are about their work.

For example, I talked to J.T. Tepnapa and Carlos Pedraza, the masterminds behind the upcoming movie, Judas Kiss. Their info and advice was very helpful and informative. They have truly put their heart and soul in their movie and I totally admire them for that.

And for my ego, there were some readers of my blog and tweets. I was very happy to meet them.

I really can't explain how inspirational it was to see gay creative people in one setting. Sean Z, who's one the founders of this event, was pleased with the turnout and hopes to make it bigger next year. I believe it will get bigger and better. As more gay geeks, artists and writers hear about Bent-Con, I sure it will grow.

I have some pics to share. Please click the 'Show Info' part of the sideshow

I'm Going to BENT-CON!

Today, I'm going to BENT-CON, a comic-con for gay fans. I will get to meet many gay writers and artists who are making the way for gay comics into the mainstream.

The neat thing about all of this, I will get to see artist and friend Sean Z.

Sean is the creator of the sexy Sci-Fi comic, MYTH. I was very fortunate to meet him at San Diego Comic Con this past summer; and I have to say, he is very nice and very real. Sean will showcase his work and he has new stuff to share at the event. He's also co-creator of this lil' Comic-Con.

Go here to see more of his superb work.

Oh, Sean Z is Fanboy of the Month for December. Check out his photo shoot

Music Artist Nhojj takes on Homophobia with his latest single

I've been following Nhojj for awhile and he always amazes me.

Check it out: Gay Warrior Song

BWW News reports:
It's an unlikely phenomenon for a gay anthem to grab the #1 spot on a Reggae chart, reggae music having unleashed much homophobia. But it is not the first time for Nhojj. His gay music video "Love" hit the #1 spot on the mainstream MTV Music Top 100 chart earlier this year. And last year BET/Centric congratulated him on being "a black history and a gay history first!"

This time around Nhojj targets homophobia, and donates proceeds to the Society Against Sexual Orientation Discrimination (SASOD), an LGBT Rights organization in Guyana. In writing "The Gay Warrior Song" Nhojj invokes scripture in the name "Jah" (a term for God, widely used in reggae music) as his higher authority.
