David S. Goyer is the writer for the Justice League movie

Well, well, well... The Justice League movie is a go and David S. Goyer is the writer.

Deadline reports:

Warner Bros Pictures is fast-tracking the Superman reboot sequel with its successful twosome already in place: Zack Snyder reprising as director and David S. Goyer repeating as screenwriter. Goyer’s deal is part of a huge 3-picture deal he signed at Warner Bros for Man Of Steel, the sequel, and Justice League with Superman.

But wait, there's more! During the Man of Steel premier in NYC, Goyer had some words for the Avengers:

They’ve got a little kryptonite pellet embedded in my heart and if I say anything it will explode, but I would be a very rich man for all the times I was asked that question. It all depends on how the [Man of Steel] does. I would love to see a Justice League film, absolutely. Put the Avengers on notice.

That sounds like fighting words.

Ghost Rider 2 is coming out and I guess fans are in heat... Wrong! No one is excited about this. In fact, this movie was a hot mess, but Columbia Pictures believes it can be a hit.

Columbia Pictures has begun to rev the throttle on a second installment of the Marvel Comics character “Ghost Rider.”

David Goyer is in early talks to create the story and supervise writers for a film expected to once again star Nicolas Cage, who played the highly flammable cyclist in the 2007 original. Through a spokesperson, Goyer said he hadn’t signed on yet. But plans are already under way to base the sequel on a “Ghost Rider” script written years ago by Goyer, whose superhero work includes hit screen transfers of DC’s “Batman Begins” and Marvel’s “Blade” franchise. The original “Ghost Rider” was scripted by director Mark Steven Johnson. “Ghost Rider” will be produced by former Marvel topper Avi Arad, Michael De Luca and Steven Paul, with Gary Foster executive producer.

Avi Arad? Wasn't he fired for his foolishness?

And speaking of foolishness... Fox wants to redo Daredevil and jumpstart a Silver Surfer movie.

Fox is: rebooting “Fantastic Four” with “Green Lantern” scribe Michael Green and producer Akiva Goldsman; mobilizing a “Wolverine” sequel and several “X-Men” spinoffs; is quietly developing a new version of “Daredevil” and working on a Silver Surfer film. Sony recently set James Vanderbilt to write the fifth and sixth installments of “Spider-Man,” and Universal continues work on “Sub-Mariner.” Paramount continues as distributor for “Iron Man 2” and several others expected to include “Thor” and “Captain America.”

Silver Surfer? Maybe, he has fans... I think. But another Daredevil? Another one? Child Cheese, I'm still trying erase the 1st one from my mind.

Disney/Marvel, it's time to bring it all back into the fold.

No DC Comics Movies anytime Soon

David Goyer, script writer, director, and comic lover, dropped some (I think) good news involving the upcoming DC Comic movies.

When asked about several projects he's been involved with - i.e. Supermax, The Flash - Goyer said in a recent interview with IESB, "A lot of the DC movies at Warner Brothers are all on hold while the figure out, they're going to come up with some new plan, methodology, things like that so everything has just been pressed pause on at the moment. It was the double header of both Iron Man and The Dark Knight coming out, so more than ever I think they've realized, I think DC was responsible for 15% of Warner Brother's revenue this year, something crazy like that, so they realized that comic books, it's become a new genre, one of the most successful genres."

Maybe this will get them to "think" about the story and product. Comic fans remember the casting for the Justice League movie, it was terrible and horrific. Then, the past ideas for Wonder Woman the movie, one in particular had the notion of Diana and Donna being spies (Great Hera).

If you want a great comic book movie, it needs to stick to the story we all fell in love with. Too many changes = failures and disappointments, then reboots. Yes, WB please take all the time you need to find the right writers, directors, studios, actors, and story for these movies. No more mess and no more flops. This is the measure to get it right. I applaud this move and I hope for the best.
