My Rant about Bernie Sanders

I'm sorry, but I'm struggling with Bernie Sanders' struggle. A couple of nights ago, he pledged to keep on running for president. He claims that his movement is bigger than this election.

But is it though? I don't think so, because if it was bigger than him, he would have more people on board. So far, Bernie has inspired one particular group... White men. The majority of his voters are white men, both young and old. His youth vote are heavy with white guys and women. Hardly, a start of a revolution. This struggle has only inspired these folks who are sexist, rude, violent and completely over the top.

They have been disrespectful to our civil rights leaders and just ridiculous this entire season. This group ain't no revolution and if it is, I don't care to see it. Most of his supporters are belligerent and wildly lost in every word that still lacks detail and focus. I can't understand why Bernie doing this to be very honest with you. I think this campaign is some type of male ego trip that's riding on a slippery slope of white privilege and foolishness.

After listening to his speech in Santa Monica, I was so done. And sadly, many others were done with him. It was good to see people deciding not to continue this journey with him. I guess he thinks he's going to win in DC, but he forgot DC is full with people of color. So good luck, Bernie, we will watch as this house falls apart.

So, Bernie Sanders tried to get Barney Frank thrown out of the DNC Convention role. The DNC denied Bernie's request, but Barney had some words for Sanders:

The party that gave this country its first African-American President; the party that is poised to give this country its first woman nominee of a major party, very likely its first woman President; a party chaired by a Jewish woman; a party which features the first openly gay member of the United States Congress on the party's rules committee; isn't "progressive" enough, or inclusive enough, according to a 75 year old straight white male, who "white flighted" his way out of the most ethnically diverse city in the country, to the whitest state in the northeast United States, and who just passed his 1 year anniversary of declaring himself a member of the party, that he thinks that he is the only fit candidate to be the party's nominee for President. A nomination which if he can't secure it by the ballot, has threatened to secure it by lawsuits, and more than just hinted at violence.

Trump and Bernie might Debate

On "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Trump said he would debate Senator Bernie Sanders before the California primaries. It seemed like a joke, but he said he would do it if the price was right. Jimmy offered on behalf of of ABC to have the network pay for Trump's part, and give the money to charity.

Soon after that, Bernie Sanders accepted the offer.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. ABC paying for Trump's part is a bit much. They act like he hadn't been an asshole in this election. And Bernie... I can't.

This sensationalism over politics feels cheap and WWE-ish. I hope Hillary stays far from it.

Hillary Clinton Declines Fox News Dem Debate

For some reason, Bernie wanted another debate with Hillary Clinton on Fox News.

Why? Child, I couldn't tell you, but he wanted another one. Well, Hillary got back to him and Fox News... She said no.

Her spokesperson writes:

“We have declined Fox News’ invitation to participate in a debate in California…As we have said previously, we plan to compete hard in the remaining primary states, particularly California, while turning our attention to the threat a Donald Trump presidency poses. We believe that Hillary Clinton's time is best spent campaigning and meeting directly with voters across California and preparing for a general election campaign that will ensure the White House remains in Democratic hands"

I agree, we don't have time for this.

Within the last few days there have been a number of criticisms made against my campaign organization. Party leaders in Nevada, for example, claim that the Sanders campaign has a 'penchant for violence.' That is nonsense. Our campaign has held giant rallies all across this country, including in high-crime areas, and there have been zero reports of violence. Our campaign of course believes in non-violent change and it goes without saying that I condemn any and all forms of violence, including the personal harassment of individuals. But, when we speak of violence, I should add here that months ago, during the Nevada campaign, shots were fired into my campaign office in Nevada and apartment housing complex my campaign staff lived in was broken into and ransacked.

Nearly half of the voters in the West Virginia Democratic primary who backed Bernie Sanders say they would vote for Republican Donald Trump in the fall presidential election, according to exit polls reported by CBS News.

Forty-four percent of Sanders supporters surveyed said they would rather back the presumptive GOP nominee in November, with only 23 percent saying they'd support Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton. And 31 percent said would support neither candidate in the likely general election match-up.
