Question of the Day...and mini-rant

With the glaring examples of jaded gay youth, I have to ask? Where are our gay mentors? And I mean real gay mentors, not older sex partners or daddies.

Where are the older and wiser gay men that can lead our future generation in a better direction.

We hear about the priest sucking little boys off or we hear about mayors sleeping with their interns, but where is the news about a gay leader helping youngsters get off the streets and into schools. Where are the gay mentors providing real leadership to the LGBT teens, struggling to find their way.

Where are they? We need to hear more about them. I'm tired of powerful gay men, mayors, leaders or whatever falling into scandal. We need new examples of gay empowerment and leaders. Great and positive examples are few and far between, and that's not good for us.

The Slow Political Death of a U.S. Senator

Roland Burris...I knew something would pop up. It was shady how he got the Senate seat and then, admitting that he tried to raise money for Baloney Sandwich prior to his 'appointment'; Roland completely set himself up to fail.

The big cause of this drama start with the news of him 'leaving out' important info during the Rod's impeachment hearings. He claims he complied with everything, but Roland, be honest with yourself. You didn't tell the truth when you needed to. Now, he's got the GOP, a growing number of Dems and the Chicago Tribune calling for your head. He also has a friend asking him to step down
An open letter to Sen. Roland Burris from Cook County Clerk David Orr

February 17, 2009

Senator Roland Burris
Kluczynski Federal Building
230 S. Dearborn Street
Chicago, IL 60604

Dear Roland:

It saddens me to call for your resignation, but the time has come for
you to step aside. Recent revelations about your contact with our
former governor's brother and associates have made it questionable for
you to represent Illinois in the United State Senate.

Your "defense" of not revealing the troubling contents of your
conversations with former Governor Blagojevich's confidants is that you
would have told more if properly asked.

You are disingenuously ignoring the context of your hearing. Our former
governor was arrested and charged with selling President Obama's Senate
seat. At that time, all Democrats demanded that no one take that seat
at Blagojevich's behest. Yet, you accepted his appointment under a
cloud of suspicion. It was your duty to prove yourself untouched by
scandal. You know that the state of Illinois and the nation opposed any
Senate appointee who was tainted by dealings with the Blagojevich
circle.

Yet, you've glossed over your numerous conversations with those very
people. You failed to disclose repeated contacts to the Senate
Impeachment Committee. It matters not whether questions were properly
posed. You are an attorney, and know better than that.

To serve as a U.S. Senator--especially in President Obama's former seat--
you should have appeared before the Committee eager to disclose
everything pertinent without being asked. Anything less is beneath you
and far beneath our state's expectations for you.

Naturally, any nominee can play word games, a verbal hide-and-seek with
the truth. But your silence in this matter is subterfuge, not
gamesmanship. No Americans or Illinois voters nor your colleagues in
elective office should have to suffer through more episodes in this
unseemly drama. We deserve a clean break with the embarrassing
Blagojevich era. This is not merely a legal issue; it is a moral issue.

I have supported you in the past as a colleague and as a friend. But
today I ask you to step down and let the people of Illinois move
forward into a new era of good governance.

Sincerely,
David Orr
Cook County Clerk

I think you should step down as well, this position is already tainted and your respect level is waning. I hate to say this, but you are done, Burris! Please step down, before you are removed like your buddy Rod.

New York Post calls Obama a Rabid Monkey

Either the New York Post and famed cartoonist Sean Delonas are smart, desperate for sales or just plain idiots.

Today, they ran this cartoon in the Post, causing a big stir. I guess the joke is the stimulus bill is a piece of crap because a rabid monkey wrote it. The rabid monkey applies to the tragedy of the woman being mauled by a monkey the other day.

But it also applies the race issue. Everybody knows the monkey is a racial slur towards us. I know they had to think of that before posting this mess. This is very tacky, but in these desperate times and the print business failing they did what they had to do...stoop down to the lowest of the low.

The first person to comment on this is no other than, Al Sharpton:

The cartoon in today's New York Post is troubling at best given the historic racist attacks of African-Americans as being synonymous with monkeys. One has to question whether the cartoonist is making a less than casual reference to this when in the cartoon they have police saying after shooting a chimpanzee that "Now they will have to find someone else to write the stimulus bill."

"Being that the stimulus bill has been the first legislative victory of President Barack Obama (the first African American president) and has become synonymous with him it is not a reach to wonder are they inferring that a monkey wrote the last bill?"

I feel a boycott coming on.

Question of the Day: Did Beau Breedlove set this whole thing Up?

The whole Sam Adams thing is boiling over. And it's only a matter of time before he's truly out on a limb. (check out my earlier post)

But the news of his boy toy isn't making matters good at all. Beau Breedlove is set to take it all off in Unzipped magazine. Unzipped is basically a porn magazine: nothing more, nothing less.

But I have to wonder...With the timing of this scandal and now, Beau's bridge to porn/naked/attention stardom...Did he set this thing up to get him in the media's eye?

It's too fishy. Starting from the gate: The info is leaked about their affair, Sam's in the news, then Beau is set up for interviews, and now he's in L.A. flashing his cock for the camera? Seems too planned to be consequence.

This could be a just me thinking too hard at work, but something's not right. Sam is going through a lot and Beau is just kool-aiding with this odd source of fame. A little selfish, Beau...just a little.

Just when you thought it was Safe for Sam Adams...

Folks are not feeling Sammy. In fact they have launched a site geared to removing Sam Adams as Mayor. Basically, they want to recall him.

The site is called www.recallsamadams.com. This is from their webpage:

Why do you feel Sam Adams should be recalled?

Sam Adams should be recalled for deliberately lying to the public, orchestrating an elaborate cover-up in which he subverted the 2008 mayoral election and abusing the power that the people entrusted to him. The people of Portland and surrounding communities are the unwilling victims who are paying for his deception and betrayal.

What are your political ideologies?

We feel that our views are in line with what some have labeled as American Progressivism. Historically it was the Progressive movement in the early 1900's that made recalls of elected officials possible.

Our volunteer base is comprised of individuals who subscribe to just about every political ideology with the common belief that Sam Adams actions warrant him unfit for office.

What are your views about homosexuality?

Every citizen has the right to the pursuit of happiness and it is the job of government to protect individual liberties. Deliberately lying, masterminding cover-ups and abusing power are traits of a corrupt politician and has nothing to do with sexual orientation.

We feel that Sam Adams has exploited and done a great disservice to the LGBT community. Our recall effort is dedicated to educating the public that any citizen with integrity, honesty and ideas can be leaders.

The goal of this group is gain 2,000 volunteers and collect 50,000 signatures. If they get more than 31,000 signatures, Sammy will be removed. I knew something was happening, it was quiet way too long in Oregon.

This crazy heifer needs to be sent to the Phantom Zone. Listen to her rant about rich people suffering. Again RICH PEOPLE not everyone else.

The Brotherhood of Evil Gays attack Utah!

I feel like Mystique's coming around the corner, especially after reading this mess. The foolish group known as“America Forever” placed a full-page ad in the Sunday's Salt Lake papers warning folks of the “homosexual movement”.

Yes, the movement is converting and changing farm boys into killer gays, who knew. This ad/attack is a response from Utah's Common Ground Initiative. They are providing some rights to the LGBT community there, and the cute thing, is their initiatives are based on the Mormon Church's notion of supporting these rights (not marriage, though)
But somehow, this group believes we are out to destroy the masses and rape their minds. Who are this people and what is really going on with them? I will try to find out more stuff on this...America Forever group. Sounds like a bunch lost souls.
