Is trump signing a Religious Liberty Executive Order on Thursday?

Word on the street says that trump may sign an Executive Order that will harm the queer community.

Politico reports

President Donald Trump has invited conservative leaders to the White House on Thursday for what they expect will be the ceremonial signing of a long-awaited—and highly controversial—executive order on religious liberty, according to multiple people familiar with the situation.

Two senior administration officials confirmed the plan, though one cautioned that it hasn’t yet been finalized, and noted that lawyers are currently reviewing and fine-tuning the draft language. Thursday is the National Day of Prayer, and the White House was already planning to celebrate the occasion with faith leaders.

The signing would represent a major triumph for Vice President Mike Pence—whose push for religious-freedom legislation backfired mightily when he served as governor of Indiana—and his allies in the conservative movement.
As of now, this is a rumor, however we will now on Thursday

Say What? A Leaked Draft of Trump’s Religious Freedom Executive Order?

Now I don't know how true this is, but check it out.

A leaked copy of a draft executive order titled “Establishing a Government-Wide Initiative to Respect Religious Freedom,” was obtained by The Investigative Fund and The Nation yesterday.

The tea is, this draft points out the exemptions for people and organizations who claim religious or moral objections to same-sex marriage, premarital sex, abortion, and trans identity, and it slights women’s access to contraception and abortion through the ACA.

Mike Pence won’t support LGBT Rights, because it hurts Religious Freedom

Well, I guess NOM and Brian Brown can rest easy about Mike Pence. The chicken sh*t governor will not support the LGBT civil rights protections. He thinks these protections would diminish religious freedoms.

NBC 14 reports
Pence said in prepared remarks for Tuesday evening's State of the State speech that constitutional rights to religious freedom in worship, service or work are "too precious."
Bills are pending in the Legislature to extend LGBT protections, and Pence has previously avoided taking a position on the issue. He didn't say in the prepared remarks whether he believed those bills would infringe on religious freedoms.
Mike, you could've done the right thing, but nope, you're cool being the asshole

North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory veto the Anti-Gay SB2

This is great news for North Carolinas

Conservative state lawmakers passed SB2, a bill that would've allowed government employees to discriminate against gay couples by denying marriage licenses.

They sent the bill up to Governor Pat McCrory, but he vetoed it. In a press release, he said:
"I recognize that for many North Carolinians, including myself, opinions on same-sex marriage come from sincerely held religious beliefs that marriage is between a man and a woman. However, we are a nation and a state of laws. Whether it is the president, governor, mayor, a law enforcement officer, or magistrate, no public official who voluntarily swears to support and defend the Constitution and to discharge all duties of their office should be exempt from upholding that oath; therefore, I will veto Senate Bill 2."
I bet their faces are cracked!

WATCH Bobby "I Will Never President" Jindal's Ad for Religious Liberty - UPDATE

Bobby has tried to used this RFRA law to promote his president bid, but that opportunity has DIED. The state House voted to send it the back of the calendar. It's dead for the session.

In Indiana: Gen Con will leave the state if the controversial SB 101 is signed into law

This Indiana Religious Freedom bill is causing a stir and it's not even signed in. The largest gaming convention, Gen Con, has put their geek foot down and informed Indiana Governor Mike Pence that if he signs the bill into law, they are pulling out.

The letter says:

This con brings in 50 million to the state, so they got the clout. Let's sit back and sees what happens.

Indiana passes Religious Freedom Bill, a Veto Campaign launched

Sadly, in Indiana, SB101 (a religious freedom bill) passed with lopsided 63-31 vote. This bill allows private and public businesses to discriminate against others for religious reasons.

The bill now goes to Gov. Mike Pence, who said he will sign it into law. There is a campaign of sorts to stop Pence from doing this.

It's called, Veto SB101 and there's a site that explains everything. So, please check it out and lend your support.

In Georgia: Senate passes ‘religious freedom’ bill

The attack against equality continues in the South.

The Georgia Senate just approved one of these "religious freedom" bills to protect the right to discriminate against the LGBT community.

Project Q reports:

State Sen. Josh McKoon's bill, S.B. 129 – the "Georgia Religious Freedom Restoration Act" or RFRA – passed 37-15 after nearly 90 minutes of debate. Earlier Thursday, the Senate approved a ban on amendments to the legislation. McKoon (top photo) spoke for nearly 30 minutes, defending his legislation against critics that he dismissed as "the professional left" who have contempt "for the people of this state."

"It's a simple, modest, common sense protection for people of faith, people of every faith," McKoon said. "When we have strong religious liberty, what goes along with that is tolerance for people of every faith and people with no faith at all."

McKoon also said the LGBT critics of the legislation failed to cite a case in which similar legislation in other states has resulted in anti-gay discrimination. "This law has been tested. The parade of horribles that we've had to hear about for a year have never manifested themselves," McKoon said.

Hopefully, it will not pass the House.

Mormon Leaders will only support Gay Rights if Religious Freedom is also Protected

They ain't slick.

Mormon church leaders held a press conference over their possible support of gay right, but the catch is, they want religious freedom to be protected too.

AP reports:

The church is promising to support some housing and job protections for gays and lesbians in exchange for legal protections for believers who object to the behavior of others.

It's not clear how much common ground the Mormons will find with this new campaign. The church insists it is making no changes in doctrine, and still believes it's against the law of God to have sex outside marriage between a man and a woman.

But church leaders who held a rare news conference Tuesday said "we must all learn to live with others who do not share the same beliefs or values."

Voters repeal Pro-LGBT Ordinance in Fayetteville

Last night, Southern Baptist (Hate) leaders helped overturn an anti-discrimination  ordinance.

Folks came out to end the ordinance because it supposedly threatened to religious liberty. Fayetteville's City Council passed the ordinance in a 6-2 vote this past August, but the haters collected enough signatures to place its repeal on the ballot in a special election.

Sadly, it worked. The final unofficial results showed 7,523 votes for repeal and 7,040 votes against it.

But is it over? Hopefully, not!

Interesting Quote: Julian Bond

"As LGBT people have gained greater equality under the law, we are hearing similar objections to the ones I heard in response to the civil rights gains of African-Americans in the 1960s. We hear people asking for exemptions from laws - laws that prohibit discrimination - on the ground that complying would violate their religious beliefs. ... There are some who feel that ENDA must allow religiously affiliated organizations - far beyond churches, synagogues and mosques - to engage in employment discrimination against LGBT people. We haven't accepted this in the past, and we must not today."

160 Religious Leaders beg Obama to Protect Religious Freedom/Their Right to Discriminate

About 160 religious leaders sent President Obama a letter to (and get this) include strong religious freedom protections in the LGBT Job Projection Executive Order.

In other words, they want to be able to discriminate in the name of the Lord.

I have the letter below. You will see that they don't support the EO, however it feels like a guilt trip. They mention how protecting their religious freedom allows them to do their charity work and such. These folks have the nerve.

Check it out for yourself

Interesting Quote: Tony Perkins

"I was honored to attend today's signing of Mississippi's Religious Freedom Restoration Act and have the opportunity to personally thank Governor Bryant, and the legislators who have stood up to protect religious liberty as 18 other states have already done. This law prevents the government from discriminating against religion.

Unfortunately, too often in today's political world, courage is in short supply. Those who understand the importance and cherish the historic understanding of religious freedom are grateful for leaders who respond to fact and not fictitious claims of those who are trying to quarantine faith within the walls of our churches or homes. Some things are worth standing and contending for, and at the top of that list is our First Freedom, the freedom of religion.

We applaud Governor Phil Bryant, Lt. Governor Tate Reeves, House Speaker Philip Gunn, Senator Phillip Gandy, and Rep. Andy Gipson for their leadership in defending religious freedom and for refusing to cower to egregious misrepresentations of a fair and reasonable religious liberty measure."
