Nightmare on Elm Street part 2 is Gay
I found this yesterday and I had to laugh and sigh. The sequel of Nightmare on Elm Street was pretty much a coming out story and lead guy... Well, I didn't see him as straight.
In fact, I thought he was like me, without the Freddy coming out my stomach kind of thing. Anywho, check out this clip explaining the gayness of NMOES 2

Interesting Quote: Brad Fuller
"Lots of rumors out there. I want to set the record straight on freddy and Jason. First, let's talk Jason: [Damian] Shannon and [Mark] Swift wrote a great script. We are ready to go, when New Line is ready. But as of yet, they are not ready."Brad is the producer of both remakes. I'm actually glad to hear this.
"As for Freddy, as far as I know, there isnt even talk of writing another script. Rated R Horrormovies , right now, don't seem to generate interest from the studios. Everyday we want to hear from any studio that they want a horror movie, but it hasn't happened. So right now we are working on a handful of films, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Ouija."

Freddy Krueger has a New Nancy to Terrorize

Meet Rooney Mara...she is the new Nancy for the updated Nightmare on Elm Street.
Bloody Disgusting confirmed the news:
Bloody-Disgusting learned today that Rooney Mara (Urban Legends: Bloody Mary) is in final negotiations to star as the "average" teen protagonist in Warner Bros. Pictures, New Line Cinema and Platinum Dunes' remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street, which begins lensing in Chicago early next month.
She will join the previously announced Jackie Earle Haley (Kreddy Krueger), Kyle Gallner (Quentin) and Thomas Dekker (Jesse) in the film being helmed by music video director Samuel Bayer.
She looks normal and not sexed-up. Almost like the original and classic, Heather Langenkamp (who I got to meet in Tempe 2 years ago).

So far, I like the new Freddy and Nancy.

IT'S TRUE! Jackie Earle Haley is Freddy Krueger!

Great Choice! Jackie will be 'the bastard son of 100 maniacs'
Variety reports:
Jackie Earle Haley is going to Elm Street, signing to star as iconic killer Freddy Krueger in New Line and Platinum Dunes' relaunch of "A Nightmare on Elm Street."
Platinum Dunes partners Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form are producing with John Rickard co-producing. Samuel Bayer will direct from Wesley Strick's script, with lensing set to begin next month in Chicago.
Now, this movie can be watchable...even with Michael Bay behind it

This Man could be the new Freddy Krueger

Some news for the Horror fans! Latino Review may be the first to break the news that Jackie Earle Haley could be Freddy Krueger!
Yep, that's right. Jackie Earle Haley, aka raspy-voiced Rorschach in Watchmen, is now in final talks to take over the role of serial killer Freddy Krueger in the 2010 reboot of A Nightmare on Elm Street. This news comes to us today from Bloody-Disgusting but if it sounds familiar that's because El Mayimbe first broke the Haley-as-Krueger rumor in February. But, much like the parents in the Elm Street movies never believe that their teens are being hunted by a ghoulish looking Freddy, nobody believed El Mayimbe back then.

Interesting choice, I can see it and it makes sense. He was great in Losin' it, The Bad News Bears, Little Children and Watchmen. Hopefully, the story will be good.
And speaking of Losin' it...
I had an odd crush on him back then

Mixed emotions about Freddy and Jason

As we speak, there're folks working on a Nightmare on Elm Street remake, next chapter, or something of the sort. It seems the studios believe there's more money in Jason, Freddy, and other 70/80's killers, however I think it is a cop out.
I personally don't want more Freddy movies. I don't want him or the others to make a comeback. I know a lot of people do and I'm curious about the remakes; but I want something new, something that changes the game like they did in the 80s with Jason and 'em. There has been about 7 Freddy movies and too many Jason...what else can they do with them.
Instead of bringing them back, start up a new batch killers. I think there are so many stories to tell. I'm excited to see these movies, but it's time for some new stuff. On the web, there are very talented writers and creators that can move Horror to the next level. It's almost a shame to see the big hype about Horror movies is based from remakes, and nothing groundbreaking.
Let's send a message that we (lovers of Horror) want more. I'm trying to get into the Cinema school at USC in hopes to change the game. And I'm know there are up and coming Horror writers struggling to be heard. Studios, please give them a chance. Some of them could be the change we are looking for.
So to sum this up, I will see the remakes, but I'm not overly excited about them. I want new and fresh Horror stories. Bringing these classics back only make the genre stagnant. It's time to slash some new ground.
