Rick Perry compares being Gay to Alcoholism
Just when you thought Rick "Jethro" Perry was hiding in a corner somewhere, POOF, he is somewhere talking mess.
Last night at the Commonwealth Club of California, Rick spoke on a myriad of topics, including the LGBT stuff.
Not too long ago, the Texas Republican Party added a platform to provide access to reparative therapy for gays and lesbians. Now, we know that reparative therapy is a crock of crap, but it's Texas republicans at the table.
Anywho, Rick was questioned about the therapy addition and if being gay is a disorder; he responded with this:
"Whether or not you feel compelled to follow a particular lifestyle or not, you have the ability to decide not to do that. I may have the genetic coding that I'm inclined to be an alcoholic, but I have the desire not to do that, and I look at the homosexual issue the same way."Alcoholic... Gay... How is that a comparison, Rick?
