President Obama will Speak Live at the Edmund Pettus Bridge to mark the 50th anniversary of the Selma

Live from Selma, Alabama. President Obama will speak at the Edmund Pettus Bridge to mark the 50th anniversary of the Selma to Montgomery marches.

This is the 50th Anniversary of the March in Selma

In 1965, about 600 people got together in Selma on Sunday, March 7, to march  on the Edmund Pettus Bridge over the Alabama River to Montgomery. However, they were harassed and attacked by Alabama State troopers and local police. Over fifty people were hospitalized after this horrible incident. This was known as Bloody Sunday.

Go and see SELMA

This weekend I saw Selma and I tell you, the Academy should be ashamed of themselves. This film was so emotional, so on point and very engaging. Ava DuVernay directed a strong story, filled with so much passion. It is so ridic that the Academy ignored her and her work.

The actors in the film were so good. David Oyelowo came alive as Dr. King. He was superb and in most the scenes he was in. And Carmen Ejogo played Coretta Scott King like a boss. She looked like Coretta and carried herself in the way I would imagine her to be.

There was certain scenes that were intense... I was totally lost in many of the moments. This film was inspiring, I can't express how this movie was so good. So, if you haven't seen Selma... SEE THIS MOVIE!

72nd Golden Globe Awards Nominations includes the First Black woman nod for Best Director

The nominees for the Golden Globes are out! Ava DuVernay becomes the first Black woman nominated for a best director Golden Globe for "Selma". Also, Michael Keaton is on the comeback trail with "Birdman"!
