Is this the DC Comics Movie Release Timeline?

Rumors are all afloat on this bit of info.

Nikki Finke (former leader of Deadline) stumbled on something very interesting... The DC Comics Movie Timeline. Now, some will question the validity of this info, but it's Nikki Finke, I'm sure her sources are good.

So here is the list:

May 2016 – Batman v SupermanJuly 2016 – ShazamXmas 2016 – SandmanMay 2017 – Justice LeagueJuly 2017 – Wonder WomanXmas 2017 – Flash and Green Lantern team-upMay 2018 – Man Of Steel 2

WB hasn't spoken about this yet, but we may here more about the line-up at Comic-Con... And you know I will be there!

7 Reasons why WB is dicking around on a Wonder Woman movie

Real Talk... WB/DC Entertainment is screwing over Wonder Woman big time! It just seems that they don't have a handle on her and making up tired excuses to keep her off the screen.

It's frustrating that they can't get this together. But to shed some light into my rant, I will provide some evidence to my case.

1. DC changed her completely in the New 52. Unlike Bats or Supes, Diana gets a whole new make over, making her more warrior and less likable.
2. WB handed Wonder Woman to David E. Kelley, a writer that had no idea how to write her. And the result was a failed pilot.
3. WB executives keeps claiming WW is a strange bird. They are always using that excuse, making it hard to get Diana on the screen.
4.  They are willing make a Flash film before hers. Really, WB? The Flash? Who's beating down the door to see that superhero?
5. And continuing on with that notion, WB is willing reboot Batman... for the 5th time. The 5th time! Can we get at least one shot for Diana?
6. WB has shot down a few plans for WW films and TV series over the years. Did you know there were 3 TV ideas for a WW series? All of them were very different incarnations. 
7.  WB can't find a top director or writer for WW. They go out of their way for Bats and Supes, but for Diana, they would probably give the project to an intern.

Those are just a few reasons. If I continue, I'll get upset.

WB, Don't Whitewash AKIRA!

 The anime classic 'AKIRA' is being made into a live action film. But if you know Hollywood, you know they will find a way to frak it up.

The lead characters are Kaneda and Tetsuo, clearly Japanese all up and through.

But here's the shortlist for these characters

Scandal! Well, one of my favorite sites, Racebending.com called this mess out.

Given the current lack of lead roles for actors of color in the science fiction genre, the complex characters of Akira would be a great opportunity for Asian American actors. Last year, a Racebending.com volunteer ran a count of the 241 Warner Bros movies from 2000 to 2009 and found that only 2% had an Asian first-billed lead. Aside from The Matrix trilogy starring Keanu Reeves, the majority of films with Asian leads starred Asian nationals like Jet Li and Rain.


Although Asian American actors are sometimes cast as supporting actors in films like this month’s Sucker Punch, they still struggle for representation in leading roles in Warner Bros. films. If not in a film called Akira, for characters named Kaneda and Tetsuo, when will Asian Americans get to star in a Warner Bros film?


In contrast, even though 40% of movie tickets are purchased by people of color, 90% of the films released by Warner Bros between 2000 and 2009 featured a white lead.


Because one out of every 10 modern-day Manhattanites are Asian American (Lower Manhattan is 41% Asian,) it would make just as much sense–if not more sense, given the names “Kaneda” and “Tetsuo”–for the leads to be Asian American as it would for the leads to be white. Tetsuo and Kaneda should be cast with Asian American leads.

This is really bad planning on WB's part. AKIRA is a known classic and respect should be paid. To possibly cast any of these "IT' boys means they are depending on the look and not the story. Newsflash! AKIRA is a CLASSIC for over 20 years. We don't need an A&F face to make us watch this movie!

So please sign their petition on their website and keep AKIRA real.

Merciful Minerva!! Wonder Woman may be Coming Back to TV !?!

WHAT? Is this real?!? This is unreal, oh my! Okay, let me calm down here. So, I 'm hearing that Wonder Woman may be back on the TV screen. This is what I read:

Wonder Woman is still heading to the screen, but instead of coming to a theater near you, the Amazon princess is returning to television.

Warner Bros. Television is developing a modern-day reboot of the classic DC comic book heroine and has lassoed an unlikely talent to potentially write and produce the superhero project: David E. Kelley, the showrunner behind legal dramas such as “Ally McBeal,” "Boston Legal" and "The Practice."

Now, WB has not confirmed this at all, so it could be a rumor. But y'all I will be watching for all of the scoop!

New Trailer: Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths

A "CRISIS" is coming!

Great comic news! The WB animation folks, who gave us "Doomsday" and "Wonder Woman", is going for the gold... They will tackle Earth 2's heroes and give us a taste of the"Crisis" style stories.

Warner Home Video will distribute in Spring 2010 (finalizing date soon) An original story from award-winning animation/comics writer Dwayne McDuffie (Justice League) rooted in DC Comics’ popular canon of “Crisis” stories.

Bruce Timm (Superman Doomsday, Green Lantern) is executive producer. Lauren Montgomery (Wonder Woman, Green Lantern) and Sam Liu (Superman/Batman: Public Enemies) are co-directors.

In Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, a “good” Lex Luthor arrives from an alternate universe to recruit the Justice League to help save his Earth from the Crime Syndicate, a gang of villainous characters with virtually identical super powers to the Justice League. What ensues is the ultimate battle of good versus evil in a war that threatens both planets and, through a diabolical plan launched by Owlman, puts the balance of all existence in peril.

All-star voice cast led by Mark Harmon (NCIS) as Superman, James Woods (Ghosts of Mississippi) as Owlman, Chris Noth (Sex and the City, Law & Order) as Lex Luthor, William Baldwin (Dirty Sexy Money) as Batman, Gina Torres (Serenity, Firefly) as Super Woman and Bruce Davison (X-Men) as the President.

This is going to be hot!!

No He-Man for Us

Well I'm a little sad, but okay about this news...

Warner Bros. and Mattel will be parting company on “Masters of the Universe,” the live-action reinvention of the signature Mattel toy line that WB and producer Joel Silver have been developing since 2007.

Mattel and WB didn’t see eye to eye over the direction of the project and made a mutual decision to let the option lapse this month. The film revolves around He-Man, a prince who becomes a warrior who battles the evil Skeletor for control of his magical homeland.

It's probably for the best. Hopefully a better deal well come through and that deal won't mess up my childhood memories.

Why! By the Grace of Hera...WB is trying to Remix, IT

While I think it can be tinkered, I'm not sure about the IT reboot.

I happen to like the TV version, Tim Curry was wonderful as the killer clown.

According to THR, they have already begun the process:

Dave Kajganich has been hired pen the script, which follows a group of kids called the Losers Club that encounter a creature called It, which preys on children and whose favorite form is that of a sadistic clown called Pennywise.

When the creature resurfaces, the kids are called upon to regroup again, this time as adults, even though they have no memory of the first battle. The novel is set in 1958 and 1985, though the feature version will be set in the present day.

"It" was the best-selling book of 1986 and in 1990 was turned into an ABC miniseries that starred John Ritter, Harry Anderson, Tim Reid, Annette O'Toole and Richard Thomas. Tim Curry played Pennywise.

The screen rights have bounced around town since then, and at one time landing at the WB and again at Sci Fi.

It could be good but so far, all the reboots have been a mess.
