Remember when Nicolas Cage was going to be Superman?

I do, barely, but I remember. And I thought it would be a mess.

Well I have a treat for you... There are pics (via YouTube)of that possible moment.

Ever wonder what Nicolas Cage would have looked like had he played Superman in the late 1990s movie Superman Lives? That was the scrapped version that would have been directed by Tim Burton from a screenplay by Kevin Smith (and rewritten by Wesley Strick) and produced by Jon Peters.

Cage's casting as the last son of Krypton caused as much of a stir amongst fanboys as Michael Keaton's had when he won the title role in Burton's Batman. Filming on Superman Lives was to have begun in 1998 in Pittsburgh, but Warner Bros. ultimately put the project on hold due to its ballooning budget. Both Cage and Burton eventually dropped out of the project, but not after concept art and costume designs were made. And after years in-development and millions spent, Warners would ultimately scrap the entire "Death of Superman" storyline, jettison Peters as the picture's producer, and take a whole new approach with 2006's Superman Returns.

Interesting to say the least.

Thank You, Satan!

Elder Bruce C. Hafen was told by God that Satan makes us gay...I guess I should say thanks for a good life and love with my partner for 6 years and some change.

Interesting Quote: Maggie Gallagher

“I’m pretty confident that, as in California, we’re going to win. We’re in much better shape in Maine than we were in California at a similar point. We were ten points down on September 1, 2008 and we won. I saw a poll yesterday that had us up two points in Maine.”

The spotted dog is predicting a win in Maine

Did I hear this Correctly?

Will there be any discussions about Diversity, Social Justice or Race Relations at the National Equality March?

I was looking at the schedule of events for the National Equality March and I noticed there were no workshops discussing race relations or diversity.

I was hoping this event would present opportunities for such conversations, but so far, I'm not seeing any time devoted to those matters.

Maybe I missing something, but I think it's imperative to have these discussions at this march. One of our major problem areas is the lack of outreach to communities of color. Plus, many LGBT communities of color continue to feel alienated from the overall LGBT family.

Why not take this time to address those issues and create some action steps to improve our relations? This is the perfect time, the perfect place. In order to achieve any of our goals we need to be an united and welcoming front.

As I said, maybe I missed it, but I hope it gets addressed someway, somehow.

The House of Jack Kirby wants Marvel Back from Disney

Uh-oh the Phoenix Force is coming for Disney in a huge way. The heirs of the Jack Kirby estate (Oh, Kirby is the co-creator of characters of X-Men, Fantastic Four and many super folks) shot out 45 notices of copyright termination to Marvel, Disney, Sony Pictures, Universal Pictures, 20th Century Fox, Paramount Pictures and Jesus it seems.

They are not happy about this merger and want it to end like last week.
The legal notices expressed an intent to regain copyrights to some creations as early as 2014, according to a statement from Toberoff & Associates, a Los Angeles firm that helped win a court ruling last year returning a share of the copyright in Superman to heirs of the character’s co-creator, Jerome Siegel.

Disney said in a statement, “The notices involved are an attempt to terminate rights seven to 10 years from now, and involve claims that were fully considered in the acquisition.” Fox, Sony, Paramount and Universal had no comment.

Marvel shareholders must still approve the sale of the company to Disney, which is already battling criticism from some Wall Street analysts that Marvel comes with too messy an array of rights agreements. The worry is that Disney will have a hard time immediately executing a coordinated exploitation of Marvel’s various brands.
Could this be over before it starts and I wonder if other shareholders will join the Kirby Force? This is going to get interesting.

Michael Schwartz is an Asshole

This fool is the chief of staff for Sen. Tom Coburn and for some reason has some silly ass stuff to say about us and porn.

See, I knew watching Vanessa Del Rio at the age of 12 was good for something.

Happy Birthday, Stephen King!

He's 62 today.

According to the Iowa Poll... Gay marriage doesn't hurt Anyone

The Des Moines Register's new Iowa Poll reveals several things about gay marriage. But the one issue that sticks out is how 92% of Iowans says gay marriage has brought no real change to their lives.

That's good, considering how Jesus freaks think our marriage destroys the very fiber of marriage.
