Fans Want Lupita Nyong'o to be Storm for the next X-Men film

Change.org has a petition for Marvel Entertainment.

Fans want Lupita Nyong'o to be the X-Man, Storm.

Here is their reasoning
This is important because listening to the demands of your consumer base means more than your own personal casting choices. She has the accent, the look, and the acting chops to play Storm as the comic book intended. Please kindly take this into consideration and respect the demand of Marvel consumers and fans of this amazing franchise. This petition was started based on the overwhelming responses to my tweet "I volunteer as tribute to lead a social media charge to get Lupita cast as Storm!"

Sir Ian McKellen on the X-Men's appeal to Gays and Ellen Page's Coming Out

Sir Ian McKellen had a lot to say about the X-Men and how it appeals to certain groups. In an interview with Buzzfeed, he said:
“Marvel told me that the demographic for the readership of the comics is young blacks, young jews, and young gays. These are all young people who feel a little bit like mutants, so they sympathise with [the X-Men] and want them to thrive and do well. And all this has come to a happy conclusion hasn’t it, with Ellen Page coming out. That gladdened my heart so much.”

A X-Man Comes Out in Uncanny X-Men #14

In this week's "Uncanny X-Men," a new member comes out.

Benjamin Deeds  is a Metamorph, which means he can psionically alter the formation of his biological cells to look and sound like a duplicate of any human being of either sex.

In this issue, he's learning more about himself and his powers. It will be interesting to see how this character develops... And who he falls for.

A New X-Men Comic Coming?

Yesterday, there was this teaser about the next Marvel Comic Book. But it's interesting to look at what this teaser means.

At first, it looks like a X-Men title... Actually, I'm saying it's probably a X-Men comic and the XX... Well, it means female.

So is this a X-Men comic about the X-Women?

We'll see.

Storm and Black Panther are No More

The royal couple are splitting up in the latest X-Men vs Avengers comics... And I'm fine with that.

Besides, I always wanted her with Forge.

First Look at the First X-Men

Neal Adams and Christos Gage are bring the "First X-Men" a new comic from Marvel. Bleeding Cool reported this earlier, but now we have so info from the famed artist, Neal Adams:
“You guys probably know I was at one time associated with X-Men…then they canceled the book. I had great fondness for the original X-Men, had the time of my life, then they canceled it. At the beginning, Stan and Jack were experimenting. You had Professor X, bald and in a wheelchair. These strange kids already in costume. It seems to me like this was not the beginning of the story, but the middle. Of all the mutants on Earth, Professor X could easily pass as a human. Why would he want to get involved in this? Maybe all this was going on before Professor X was Professor X…when Professor X was a teenager. Maybe mutant kids were getting abused by the military, by the government. Somebody would have been looking out for them, but maybe that person came to Charles Xavier, realizing he couldn’t protect these kids. That was my pitch. Marvel was very generous to provide Christos Gage to me, who is an expert in all this stuff. He’s taking my pitch and turning it into scripts that are in my opinion groundbreaking.

It’s the X-Men before there were X-Men. How deeply is Wolverine entrenched in the X-Men? Why was this first team…maybe a failure? Lots of questions to answer. The natural instinct is that this is like the ‘X-Men: First Class’ movie, but it’s not. We didn’t mind stealing the Nazi Hunter version of Magneto though. There’s a character who calls himself Bombastic Aghast, but they call him Bomb. Wolverine saves him from a cave-in then gives him a leather jacket that fits like a tent. He looks ridiculous, but he thinks it’s his costume. Later, Wolverine buys him a jacket that fits, but he throws it back in his face. That jacket means so much to him and represents his relationship with Wolverine. That’s the origin of his costume… There will be early versions of the Sentinels. I did the giant ones, now I’m getting to do different one."
I don't know about this. I mean, Wolverine? Let's stop using him for Goddess' sake! And why do we need an early X-Men story? I feel like we have enough back stories, let's move forward.

What If the X-Men Movie came out in the 80s?

What if the X-Men film came out in the 80s? I wonder who would play them and what would the story be about?

Well, I got an idea. Want to hear it, here it goes:

The story would have the X-Men clashing with Magneto and his brotherhood as they try to stop the Mutant Registration Act.

Marvel Comics First Gay Wedding?

The first gay character in a major label may be getting married. Northstar, from Alpha Flight and X-Men, could be getting married to his gay partner, Kyle.

Newsarama reports:
Last week, Marvel teased a wedding coming up in June's Astonishing X-Men #51, and though it was left vague as to who would be walking down the aisle, prevalent speculation has targeted Northstar and his boyfriend, Kyle.

It makes sense — new Astonishing X-Men writer Marjorie Liu has established that Northstar will be part of the book's cast, and a same-sex marriage would show that Marvel is willing to take the same progressive step that Archie took recently, in marrying off Kevin Keller in their alternate future title Life with Archie.
This would be cute if Jean-Paul takes his man down the aisle.
