Brent Bowers is out as manager of the Edmonton Capitals in the wake of a homophobic tirade directed at openly gay umpire Billy Van Raaphorst that earned Bowers an ejection from a game July 31 in Orange County, Calif.

The Capitals announced Saturday that Bowers, 39, had been suspended by the supposedly family friendly Golden Baseball League for the remainder of the season and fined $5,000 as a result of the altercation. But this came almost a week after a lame, two-game suspension so outraged Raaphorst's umpiring colleagues that they refused to work other GBL games.

Raaphorst's official report of Bowers ejection cited Bowers saying: "You know what I heard? I heard you are a (expletive) faggot. The rumour from several managers and people at the league is that you are a fag. The report adds that Bowers hollered: "I ought to kick your ass, you faggot."

The Capitals announced in a news release that Bowers "had been relieved of his duties." But at a news briefing at Telus Field, Oilers president Patrick LaForge said Bowers had resigned after he was suspended by GBL commissioner Kevin Outcalt at a meeting in San Francisco on Friday morning.

Deadly Letters in Seattle

Some nut is threatening gays in Seattle. A letter was sent to 11 gay bars, claiming to have the deadly poison, ricin to use on 55 people. The bars targeted are: The Elite, Neighbours, Wild Rose, The Cuff, Purr, The Eagle, R Place, Re-bar, CC's, Madison Pub, and the Crescent.

No one knows where the letter came from or if this is a hoax. However, the letter has caused mixed feelings among the LGBT community. It could be a prank, but I really want people to stay aware of everything and everyone around them.

This part of the letter really gets me.

"I could take this moment to launch into a diatribe about my indignation towards the gay community however, I think the deaths will speak for themselves."

Not everyone views Obama as a Change to Believe in

A sign posted on a tree in Vay, Idaho, with Obama's name all over it, offers a "free public hanging."

In North Carolina, there is threatening racist graffiti all about Obama in a tunnel close to the North Carolina State University campus.

In a convenience store in a Maine, an AP reporter saw a sign asking customers to join a betting pool on when Obama might be assassinated. The "The Osama Obama Shotgun Pool," had a $1 buy in and if you got close to the date you would win. At the end of the sign it said, "Let's hope we have a winner".

And this one got to me: One of the most popular white supremacist Web sites got more than 2,000 new members the day after the election, compared with 91 new members on Election Day, according to an AP count.

The site, stormfront.org, was temporarily off-line Nov. 5 because of the overwhelming amount of activity it received after Election Day. On Saturday, one Stormfront poster, identified as Dalderian Germanicus, of North Las Vegas, said, "I want the SOB laid out in a box to see how 'messiahs' come to rest. God has abandoned us, this country is doomed."

Sad...this is our "great" country.

Big Mess in my Home State

Great Hera! I can't believe this mess...well, I actually can .

Town idiots, Daniel Cowart, 20, and Paul Schlesselman, 18, planned to do the unthinkable...kill Obama. But that's not all, these fools wanted to kill more than 100 African-Americans and behead14 of them. Then they want to dress up in white tuxedos and attack Obama.

I kid you not, y'all. That's what they wanted to do.

Cowart and Schlesselman were arrested outside Jackson, about 75 miles east of Memphis, Tennessee, after an aborted robbery attempt last week, according to court records.

Though they told investigators they would be willing to die in their mission, the men backed out of their October 21 attempt to rob the gun dealer after spotting two cars and a dog at the home, the affidavit states. The men also shot out the window of a church on their way back to Cowart's grandfather's home, where they were arrested the next day.

Cowart and Schlesselman made their initial appearances before a federal judge Monday and are scheduled for a bond hearing Thursday in Memphis.

Both men have been charged with illegal possession of a sawed-off shotgun, conspiracy to rob a federally licensed gun dealer and making threats against a presidential candidate.

I hate this and I hate that this happened 30 minutes from my hometown. That's the South for ya.
