San Diego will try to keep Comic Con

In a strong move, San Diego will try to keep Comic Con for a few more years.

The officials with the Port of San Diego and the convention center peeps will work together to expand the building that could cost up to $753 million bucks.

If this works, San Diego may be able to keep the Uber-Geek fest.

The agreement would remove the major obstacle to a proposed expansion of the convention center that would provide an additional 200,000 square feet of exhibit space, 100,000 square feet of meeting rooms and a third ballroom. That would give the San Diego venue a total of 815,000 square feet of exhibit space, roughly the same as the Anaheim Convention Center -- which, along with the Los Angeles Convention Center, is competing for Comic-Con.

Once the land deal is approved, officials with the city, convention center and port district will begin an 18- to 24-month process during which time they'll seek public comment, study possible environmental effects of the expansion, and identify potential revenue streams.

If all goes as planned, and the California Coastal Commission approves the project, the expanded convention center and hotel -- one with as many as 500 rooms -- could open in 2015.

I'm still hoping we will get it, but if San Diego can get it together, I'm willing to support.

But, I still want it in Los Angeles!

This is how RNC's Michael Steele spends your money

Lord, Michael. You should have known this was a dumb move, besides being Black and in the RNC, but I digress.

Anywho, look at this fool's lavish spending habits:

While Steele has not purchased a plane, he continues to charter them. According to federal disclosure records, the RNC spent $17,514 on private aircraft in the month of February alone (as well as $12,691 on limousines during the same period). There are no readily identifiable private plane expenses for Democratic National Committee chairman Tim Kaine in the DNC’s last three months of filings.

The RNC explains that Steele charters jets only when commercial service is unavailable, or when his tight schedule requires it. “Anytime the chairman has taken any private travel has been a either to a route that doesn’t exist or because of connections and multiple travel to where he just wasn’t able to do so,” Heye said. Yet Steele’s office repeatedly refused to explain in specific terms the circumstances of the February charter flights.

Once on the ground, FEC filings suggest, Steele travels in style. A February RNC trip to California, for example, included a $9,099 stop at the Beverly Hills Hotel, $6,596 dropped at the nearby Four Seasons, and $1,620.71 spent [update: the amount is actually $1,946.25] at Voyeur West Hollywood, a bondage-themed nightclub featuring topless women dancers imitating lesbian sex.

RNC trips to other cities produced bills from a long list of chic and costly hotels such as the Venetian and the M Resort in Las Vegas, and the W (for a total of $19,443) in Washington. A midwinter trip to Hawaii cost the RNC $43,828, not including airfare.

Strip clubs, Vegas, Lesbian Sex... Those are values I can believe in.

Revolt!

Bush just showed us how he cares about us. By making us bail out greedy ass business men. Why are we saving them, we need to be bailed out! But I'm not the only one upset:

"It's our money! Let these companies die," added Claudio from Plainville, Conn.

And the kicker for me, is the payout the CEOs are getting. This is the most illogical thing I've ever seen. I get that we are trying to save our economy, but we didn't break it, greed did, these CEOs did. If you ask me, they are the true terrorists in our country.
