Arrest made in the Gay Flight Attendant's Murder

There has been an arrest in the murder of the Nick Aaronson. Here's the scoop:
Nick Aaronson, 27, was found bound and face down next to his hotel bed in Mexico City after he picked up the 20-year-old Jose Luis Ramirez at a nearby bar, Mexico City prosecutors said. Ramirez, known as "The Shadow," beat Aaronson, strangling him with a belt before fleeing with his money, they said.
Ramirez, who has been in jail before, admitted to entering Aaronson's room and beating him. Security cameras showed the two entering the hotel, with Aaronson signing Ramirez in as a guest.
He shaved his head to avoid detection but authorities found him around the same bar in Mexico City's historical center where he and Aaronson first met.

Anita Aaronson, Nick's mother, poured out her emotion on her Facebook page, posting videos of the young redhead singing karaoke. She said on Sunday the Federal Bureau of Investigation called her to say her son's killer was in custody.

This is so sad. I can't imagine how the mother feels. To know how her son was murdered must be truly killing her.

Gay Rights Activists and Roman Catholics Face Off in Mexico

I saw this coming. After the historic gay rights win in Mexico, religious freaks are falling out, screaming Satan and other lovely words.

Here's the scoop:
Gay rights activists and a group of Roman Catholics in Mexico have yelled insults at each other during dueling demonstrations over same-sex marriage.

Some 200 gay rights activists waved rainbow flags and held signs reading "Thank God I'm gay" at a plaza next to the cathedral in Guadalajara on Sunday.

A similar number of protesters opposed to gay marriage prayed at the cathedral's doors. One of them ripped up a sign held by a gay rights activist, prompting screaming by both sides.

It was the second confrontation in two days in Guadalajara, where Cardinal Juan Sandoval Iniguez stirred controversy by suggesting Mexico's Supreme Court was bribed to uphold a Mexico City law allowing adoptions by homosexual couples.

They just need to get the FRAK over it!

Gay Adoptions in Mexico City!

Mexico is really doing it this year. After approving gay marriage, they turned around and approved gay adoptions

AP reports:
Mexico's Supreme Court has voted to uphold a Mexico City law allowing adoptions by same-sex couples.

Monday's 9-2 ruling by the justices rejects a legal challenge by federal prosecutors and others who argue the law fails to protect adoptive children against possible ill-effects or discrimination.

This is great!

Congrats Mexico City!

Mexico City gays can marry and adopt!
Mexico's capital city handed out its first licenses for same-sex marriage, allowing gay couples not only to marry legally, but also to adopt children and receive government benefits—changes that pit the city's progressive government against a more conservative country that surrounds it.

The law, passed in December and effective Thursday, applies only to the capital, a city of 10 million. Mexico City follows two other cities that have opened themselves to gay marriage this week.
It's a great time for equality over there!

Mexico City Legalizes Gay Marriage

Mexico City lawmakers have become the 1st region to legalize gay marriage.

City legislators passed the bill 39-20 on Monday with five lawmakers absent.

Gay marriage is currently allowed in only seven countries and some parts of the United States.

Leftist Mexico City Mayor Marcelo Ebrard is widely expected to sign the decision into law.

The bill calls for changing the definition of marriage in the city's civic code. Marriage is currently defined as the union of a man and a woman. The new definition will be "the free uniting of two people."

Great move, Mexico City!
