The Slow Political Death of a U.S. Senator

Roland Burris...I knew something would pop up. It was shady how he got the Senate seat and then, admitting that he tried to raise money for Baloney Sandwich prior to his 'appointment'; Roland completely set himself up to fail.

The big cause of this drama start with the news of him 'leaving out' important info during the Rod's impeachment hearings. He claims he complied with everything, but Roland, be honest with yourself. You didn't tell the truth when you needed to. Now, he's got the GOP, a growing number of Dems and the Chicago Tribune calling for your head. He also has a friend asking him to step down
An open letter to Sen. Roland Burris from Cook County Clerk David Orr

February 17, 2009

Senator Roland Burris
Kluczynski Federal Building
230 S. Dearborn Street
Chicago, IL 60604

Dear Roland:

It saddens me to call for your resignation, but the time has come for
you to step aside. Recent revelations about your contact with our
former governor's brother and associates have made it questionable for
you to represent Illinois in the United State Senate.

Your "defense" of not revealing the troubling contents of your
conversations with former Governor Blagojevich's confidants is that you
would have told more if properly asked.

You are disingenuously ignoring the context of your hearing. Our former
governor was arrested and charged with selling President Obama's Senate
seat. At that time, all Democrats demanded that no one take that seat
at Blagojevich's behest. Yet, you accepted his appointment under a
cloud of suspicion. It was your duty to prove yourself untouched by
scandal. You know that the state of Illinois and the nation opposed any
Senate appointee who was tainted by dealings with the Blagojevich
circle.

Yet, you've glossed over your numerous conversations with those very
people. You failed to disclose repeated contacts to the Senate
Impeachment Committee. It matters not whether questions were properly
posed. You are an attorney, and know better than that.

To serve as a U.S. Senator--especially in President Obama's former seat--
you should have appeared before the Committee eager to disclose
everything pertinent without being asked. Anything less is beneath you
and far beneath our state's expectations for you.

Naturally, any nominee can play word games, a verbal hide-and-seek with
the truth. But your silence in this matter is subterfuge, not
gamesmanship. No Americans or Illinois voters nor your colleagues in
elective office should have to suffer through more episodes in this
unseemly drama. We deserve a clean break with the embarrassing
Blagojevich era. This is not merely a legal issue; it is a moral issue.

I have supported you in the past as a colleague and as a friend. But
today I ask you to step down and let the people of Illinois move
forward into a new era of good governance.

Sincerely,
David Orr
Cook County Clerk

I think you should step down as well, this position is already tainted and your respect level is waning. I hate to say this, but you are done, Burris! Please step down, before you are removed like your buddy Rod.

They Let Him In

Boo Boo the fool is legit. Democratic Senate leaders have accepted Burris's credentials, allowing him to be sworn in as the junior senator from Illinois sometime this week.

If it was me, I wouldn't take him...yet. I would have made him wait until next year. Burris needs to learn a thing or two about real politics. Now, his name will be tainted and scorned in scandal.
Great job, Burris. I wonder if all this drama will be put on his tombstone.

Rejected!

Well, Roland Burris was denied his Senate seat this morning as he hoped to waltz into office.

His credentials were not accepted or deemed in order. Now Burris's attorneys will take over. But seriously, he should've known this would happen. I'm still confused with why he would want to be in all of this drama. If it was me, I would wait until all of this mess blows over. As I said before, he should've known better.

Now he looks like Boo Boo the fool, standing in the rain with no seat. And now our tax dollars will be wasted as this drags out in court. Burris, I know you want this, but please wait. Just wait until Rod Baloney Sandwich is cleared or arrested.

Burris is being PIMPED!

Former Illinois Attorney General Roland Burris has been in the game for years and I would believe he knows the in and outs of the political scene. So with all this knowledge and experience, why would he allow himself to a pawn in Rod Baloney Sandwich's foolishness.

When Rod got up on that stage and named Burris for the Senate, I knew there was something wrong with it. He's under all this drama and folks are trying to impeach him...why would he appoint someone in the middle of this mess?

And Burris...why would he accept the offer while Rod's under all this investigation? He should have waited until all of this is over.

Burris says the Rod Drama has nothing to do with him, but it does. It looks shady and it acts as a way to buy Baloney Sandwich time. Burris should be smarter than this. I feel he's letting his dreams get in the way of reality. I know he's qualified, that's not the issue and his race isn't an issue either (you hear that Illinois Rep. Bobby Rush). Integrity is the issue. If Burris has any sense, he will step aside until the mess is done.

Pleading on TV and acting like nothing is going on with your appointment is foolish and shady, Burris. You need to trust in the system and step aside. A man of your stature should not be made a fool of.

Rod Baloney Sandwich's Secret List Exposes One Possible Person!

Great Hera! This is getting crazy, juicy, and down right sad. I hope this isn't true, I really do but as
Illinois Governor Rod Baloney Sandwich goes down, he's trying to take folks with him, including my fave, Jesse Jackson Jr.

Today, it's believed that little J.J. was one of the secret senate candidates. It's reported that he was willing to pay $1 millions dollars for the seat. Jesse Jr denied it and wasn't really aware of the goings on.

Please, let the info be wrong! I love Jesse Jr. and I hope this is a huge misunderstanding. Plus, I would think that Jesse Jr. would not put his career in muck for this. I like to think better of him, I really do. Let's just hope this investigation is done quickly and fair.

And Speaking of Ebay...

How Do You Buy a Seat?

Scandal, pure scandal in the government! Well, that's nothing new but I can't believe this!
I'm sure y'all know about this Senate Seat business, right. Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich was arrested on today for possibly selling the U.S. Senate seat left open by Obama. It was like he was using ebay tactics to get the highest bidder for the "item".

Rod "Baloney sandwich" claimed he did nothing wrong, however he was also charged with illegally threatening to withhold state assistance to Tribune Co., the owner of the Chicago Tribune, in the sale of Wrigley Field. In return for state assistance, Blagojevich allegedly wanted members of the paper's editorial board who had been critical of him fired.

Here more about the charges:

After a few hours in custody, Blagojevich was released on $4,500 bail.

This is a mess and truly a story from a bad TV series. What is in the drag queen's wig was he thinking? The way folks are watching Obama and the Dems, did Baloney sandwich think it was a flash in the pan?

Goodness, just when I thought we had it made...Foolishness.
